Agreed.

I'm not suggesting that he's one of the best singers or anything, but he's definitely proficient. I love the song Your Latest Trick. Hell, I love that whole album.

Brothers in Arms...great album indeed

I also liked his vocal on Sultans of Swing

Lowell George was one of the founding members of Little Feat. I'm not much of a fan of their studio albums, but the "Waiting for Columbus" live album is one of my all time favorites. Awesome vocalist and guitar player :thumb:

I love Little Feet.

Also love Weed, Whites and wine.

BTW my criteria for favorites/GOATS is three fold:
1. Bluesy/soulfulness - they must be able to invoke feeling.
2. Vocal control - not just to hit notes, I want some power ballad abilities or at least the ability to sing harmony when needed.
3. Story telling - make me believe or at least be able to relate to the lyrics.

copied music? you mean copied a musical style?

i'm sure elvis didn't come out of the womb singing r&b rockabilly. but everyone acquired their style from somewhere.

elvis still had to be able to execute it and sell it. and he did in a time when it was frowned upon.

He combined country/rockabilly, soul and gospel influences, gleaned naturally from the music he was exposed to, to create rock & roll and I agree with you about Elvis. That might be a first on this site.

He didn’t create anything, is the problem I have with that statement.

By definition, doesn’t someone need to actually write music to create an entire genre?

i didn't say he necessarily created it. i said he was the major player who elevated it to dominance.

Oh, hell yes!

When I was younger, that was one of my pop's favorite songs. I used to preform an acoustic version of that.

Just responding to you, needle dick. If it seems repetitive you should probably take a step back and look at your own lame argument.

Seems logical that he'd have to have written songs in order to "combine influences," but what the fuck do I know?

Not a lot, all it takes is some hip thrusts to create a genre, duh.
