More than anything, it should improve the locker room chemistry... With him and Everyday Eddie!

Exactly, someone to keep everyone upbeat and teaching the kids to just LOVE the game!

Need to find a spot to insert Torii!!!

(He never should've left)

I'd prefer his spot was on another team.

That lineup right there is sick. We need to stop signing over the hill veterans whether it's a pitcher, position player, former fan favorite or a combination.

Complain all you want but I love the Torii Hunter singing. Great to see him coming back for another season to ride off into the sunset and retire as a Twin. Just the way it should be.

If you think the Twins are going to win the WS this year, you're just not being honest with yourself as a Twins fan. Having Torii around will be invaluable to all the young guys that are developing their games. Along with this and another year or two of building the team up, Minnesota has a chance to become a true contender again.

I know we are not going to win this year. The pathetic thing is we have been saying the same thing for the last 4 years. All we do to "improve" is sign over the hill player no one else wants that are of zero use on a rebuilding team. We are giving him 10.5 mil? It's asinine.

If you are willing to give Torii Hunter 10.5 million to literally mentor...why the fuck won't you give Max Scherzer 20 mil a year and win a championship?

You can be fine with it all you want, but clearly a feel good story is more important to you than a championship. This is a ploy to get fans in the seats. By June people will bail.

And newsflash...he probably aint retiring a Twin. Come August hes on the trading block where we will manage to trade away for yet again...nothing.

So which is he? An over the hill player no one wants or that big talent player contending teams will be looking for at the trade deadline for that last big playoff push?

Uhhhhhh neither?

He's a over the hill player no one wants to give money and a starting spot to(except the twins) but he will be added to a contender if they have a bench role need. Like Josh Willingham who barely even played for the Royals

You don't know much about how baseball works do you?

I don't know what news you've been paying attention to, but there were several teams vying for his services.

In all honesty, if it winds up being a one year deal, so be it if he wants to, I could see him transitioning nicely into a coaching role.

As it was... We've been building. With injuries and such, Buxton and Sano are behind schedule. But having someone like Torii around in the clubhouse and on the bench is invaluable.

I actually think the Royals and Rangers were interested...

Everyone dropped out except for the Rangers no one in their right mind wanted to pay this kind of money for a 40 year old outfielder who can no longer play defense and doesn't have plate discipline.

And no we havn't been building at all. Every source of talent we have is our youngsters we have done nothing to bring talent in. Hughes was the only good move that paid off due to being low risk high reward.

Hunter isn't coming off the bench. They already announced Arcia is going to move to left. So in reality all this move does is weaken our plate discipline and outfield.

The lineup should be as I stated(with Plouffe in for Sano for the time being). And we should be focused on getting GOOD pitching. It's unacceptable this team throws 10.5 mil at Hunter when Shields, Scherzer and Lester are out there. If you can pay 10.5 to a 40 year old outfielder you can give 20 to a pitcher in their prime.

Hughes, Gibson, Meyer. We should be filling out the last two spots with something other than Mike fucking Pelfrey.

The only thing I disagree with hockey is the "We shouldn't be throwing 10M at Hunter when Shields, Scherzer and Lester are out there" No way those guys are signing with Minnesota unless we WAY overpay for them. I don't think the Twins FO is interested in throwing 100M+ at one of those guys.

What would be nice is if we could find someone to take Mauer and that insane contract off our hands, then we could go after one of these top of the rotation guys.

Shields will be 33 when the season starts, Lester will be 31 and Scherzer will be 30. I believe it will take at least a 5 year deal to sign one of these guys and I would imagine it will take at least 125M for Lester or Scherzer, I really don't want Shields.

In reality when have the Twins EVER went out and signed a big name free agent? The answer is never.

O I agree there is no way we do get them its more I'd love to hear the effort see rumors that say "Twins interested in Max Scherzer" rather than Mark buehrle :L

We've been doing the same thing for years, signing other teams cast offs to decent contracts so its ultimate a waste of money and we suck ass.

I'd rather try and overpay shields then give Pelfrey 6.5 million for a performance so bad that an injury makes the contract look better than actually pitching.

Assuming we are going to camp on Buxton(unlike ever other team who calls up stars) what are we going to do about CF? Looks like its give Hicks another go while Hunter is in right.

Last two years our plan has been Clete Thomas and Jordan Schafer. I just want this team to have a direction. And the hilarious thing is, there is so much talent pointing Curly Ryan in the right one..yet he choose the wrong path every time.

Hunter's contract has a full no trade clause.

Talk about hopeless. You literally celebrate every move the Twins make and look where it's gotten us. All that proves is you are a dumbass and a homer.

You don't have anything to refute what I say because you know I am right. You are pathetic and it's fans like you that allow Terry and the Pohlads to get away with not spending and losing.

How are you actually satisfied with the direction of this team?

Please come back with something constructive about the moves this team has made. I would like to see that you are capable of a rational thought.

Luckily for me, I am too smart to allow a dumbass like you to bring me to "your level".

But anytime, you want to try an exhibit any form of actual baseball knowledge I'll be waiting.
