Of course it is.....he's not even considered top 5 in his own time. Then you have the glaringly obvious fact that for the most part, the only reason as to why he's achieved 'top 5' in any stat is the because the era he started and plays in. There are literally tons of QB's in NFL history who won't be in the 'top 5' that piss on Matt Ryan.

But you don't get it.....and you never will.
So A. What's Ryan era iyo? And B. Who's your top 5 in that era?

I post all time stats and he wasn't top 5. You simply start qualifying the stats to fit your argument. :rolleyes2:
Ummm no. My first post in this thread clearly said I think there are 4 locks playing right now ( Brady, Brees, Ben and AR ). I then listed ( in order ) the other 4 guys I think have a shit based on how their numbers and accomplishments likely end up. ( Wilson , Ryan , Eli , Rivers ). It was in response to someone saying Rivers would get in and I said " Ryan has a better shot than Rivers". And he does . By a wide margin

He's been a solid QB since 2010, so basically every QB who's been riding their high times since that mark. Off the top of my head, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Ben, Rivers, Wilson, Luck all have cases, several of them are clearly better than Ryan.

So your era spans 12 seasons ?? Lol. Kids in their sophomore year of high school will be in the same era as Wilson and Luck then?? Solid

Since NFL history is clearly not your strong suit, you do understand (again....those pesky thing called rule changes) that QB careers - and their peak seasons - will last longer? It's certainly more logical than your '06-10' era, which you had to concoct to give more cred to Ryan.

Bottom line is, Ryan was never considered one of the best 5 of his own era....and given that his era has lasted as long as it has, he should never make the HOF.

Yes if you set an era at 12 years you may be correct . However that's preposterous so... Ryan was 15 years old when Brees and Brady started playing man. You could maybe argue Rodgers in Ryans era but none of the others . Wilson and Luck are too young . The others too old . It's like saying Elway was in the same era as Bradshaw .

So, what's the window? Plus/minus 6 months of Ryan's age? Your argument literally proves he has no chance, because you have to narrow that timeframe down so much to enhance his candidacy. It doesn't work that way in the real world, but hey....you keep trotting out your laughable reasonings.

Matt Ryan has a statistical argument as a 1st ballot entry
He's a tough one because you also have to consider the era he played in. Stafford, for instance, will end up with HOF-caliber numbers and I'm not sure many people would consider him as a Hall of Famer.

I think you overestimate today's HOF. We have real life people who think Eli is a HOF QB, while Phillip Rivers is not.

Eli Manning is nowhere near a HOF player. Rivers isn't there IMO, but at least he has a career that merits consideration. Matt Ryan has done little to show why he's worthy of that status.

No, the Falcon homer says he is

...and has done a terrible job of doing so. Stunning that he doesn't grasp what is painfully obvious, but whatever....

@rmilia1 is stafford a hoF qb
No but his career isn't over either . If he ends up winning an MVP ( or more ) making a SB (or more ) and ends up top 5-7 all time in yards and tds he will have a good shot . Ryan isn't a HoFer right now either ( like most people mentioned in this thread ). I'm simply looking at what hes done so far and extrapolating his likelihood of continuing that til he's 40ish. I'm not sure why he's getting all the grief when guys who have done far less are being mentioned here .
