I understand they lost, barely. It took Kyrie and Lebron being at their peak to dethrone them. If you put just about any great player next to Lebron will find a way to win or compete for a championship. Curry or Klay next to Lebron would be a better fit imo. It would be gold.

The Cavs just had a special run, probably the greatest run ever and definitely the greatest comeback in NBA history.
Curry, yes, but Klay would depend on rest of team. Lebron needed a guy like Kyrie who could create his own shot and run the O. That's not Klay.

I would think most would agree with this assessment and I pray to God it stays there lol

Well you would have more around Lebron than just Klay but the open looks Klay would get is ridiculous, not to mention he could also guard the best player.

But we are talking Klay as the #2 instead of Kyrie. Kyrie a better #2 for him.

Yeah I thought the whole idea was surrounding LeBron with shooters and guys who play off the ball. No one better than Klay for that

Agree, though he had his best seasons with Kyrie and Wade as his #2 as his team needs someone to ease the load and be able to run the offense, especially when he is resting. And it's not like Kyrie can't shoot.

Kyrie is not a great leader.
No argument here... watching his demeanor on the court, listening to his post-game interviews, watching him play hero/ISO ball and fail over and over with the Bucks clearly having a plan in place to stop it... man, Kyrie looked bad.

In the regular season folks could possibly shrug it off... Lord knows I did...

... the playoffs, though? That was supposed to be his time.

No excuses left now... Kyrie failed hard this season... as a player and as a leader.

Based on their play this postseason it's arguable that Brown is their better young talent. Just felt odd he got shrugged off

Just saying he's a nice piece to have if the Pels prefer Tatum. I'd not deal both.

Yeesir.

You have to learn to follow before you can lead.

Kyrie is a victim of his own hubris.

He is surgical off the dribble.

But, a basketball genius knows you win and lose as a team.

You don't skewer your teammates in the media while not acknowledging your role in not living up to expectations.

Kawhi is ideal (and sounds like Lebron has been whispering in his ear lol).

Rozier hasn't learned this one yet. He arguably had a terrible season, then ends it yelling that he was underutilized (which is probably true, but doesn't look so good for Boston). I would assume Boston wants him back if/when Kyrie leaves, but it didn't sound like Rozier was thrilled with staying (but the Celtics can match).

All those young players that got a taste last year wanted more this year, but most had to go back to smaller roles as the team got healthy. A lot of me before team in those kids.

I don't see it that way. They made it a game away from the finals without Kyrie so it's on him to harness that energy and lead them right. He didn't. Instead he hemmed and hawed over even being there at all. It ended up a lost season because the youngins and Horford easily make the second round minimum and would have more experience.

The season became about Kyrie instead of their development. That's a tough pill for Rozier, Brown, Tatum

Stevens deserves credit for taking the blame.
