Does anyone think we could re-sign Simmonds at a real discounted rate? After his last 2 seasons and his dismal if any playoff performances he couldn't be that big on demand. Thoughts?

If he accepts 4th line money and a 4th line role i wouldn't mind getting him back but i am ready for change and if we dont resign him i wouldn't mind that either.

And the good part is he's still valuble as A PP guy and if he is healthy you could move him around to fill in for hurt guys. IDK just a thought.

His rankings are spread out from 50 to 14 thats a pretty big gap.

True but it says he started out injured so maybe he's more towards the top end. Seems like a lot of good upside but you never know til they get here lol.

He has a lot of head coaching experience so i guess thats good as we could use some experience but i just read we are keeping Ian Laperriere

Therrien - meh. never really liked him as a head coach, but maybe he's OK as an assistant

Yeo - Can't say I follow the west very closely, but he got pretty poor results in Minnesota and was just short of a disaster in St Louis IMO.

Lappy - Should've been fired 2 years ago. Retaining him is indefensible IMO.

Should be interesting with 3 guys that were previously head coaches all on the staff though. That's a lot of coaching experience, I think Meltz tweeted it's over 2500 games between them. Yeo and Therrien did good things in Pittsburgh, so maybe that carries over.

Yup. Exactly my thoughts. I can find ways to get optimistic about Yeo and Therrien, but man keeping Lappy looks bad.
