perhaps you should look up where i said i was against legal immigration i am not .

i do want people who can help this country , not people who are drains on it

i dont know what your plan is but until the border is secure i dont see what plan would make a difference

No I know you didn't say you were anti legal immigration.

You CLAIM to be for it. But you don't actually support policies to increase it and make it easier. You don't support us increasing our current legal immigration quotas. You don't support increased resources to process immigrants quickly and securely. You support a president who works to limit legal immigration.

In short - youre full of shit.

obama must not have been too smart then because he did the same

I just did a search and found no such thing, I saw him taking credit for the economic growth but couldn't find anything where he credited himself directly for stock market records. I'm sure a quote or 2 may exists, if you can find one I'd be interested. Regardless what I will never find is this:

But after mentioning stock market gains roughly 200 times since winning the presidential election in late 2016, including 25 times last month alone,Trump has gone silent on stocks as they posted a pair of their worst single-day point performances in history, falling more than 1,800 points.

No president has tied themselves closer to the stock market than Trump — now the chickens have come home to roost

Why can't you just answer simple questions? Is it that you don't actually have any answers?

What is your opinion of Fox news since they are part of the MSM? it's a simple question really.
FOX news is the only network to fight for Trump. Just like any network either for or against they will brainwash you into believing that it's either 100 percent good... or 100 percent bad, and depending on which way you already lean then will simply help and push you the rest of the way over. FOX is no different in that regard to CNN or MSNBC. They are all enemies of the people. However, I will say (and ive watched all networks covering the same story) that FOX seems to be the most fairest news source out there.

On his watch, thus far it has been quite impressive. If you take a snapshot of the first two and a half years since winning the election is reads something like this. This is just based on the dow:

Obama: dow on dec 1st 2008 (one week after winning office) 8,400 (roughly)
Obama 2 and a half years in office: dow on rise to 12,800 (roughly)

Note: Obama took office at the very bottom of the housing market plunge in 2008

Trump: dow on dec 1st 2016 (one week after winning office) 19,000 (roughly)
Trump after 2 and a half years (under increased non stop pressure from the left) 26,500 (roughly)

Obama- 4,400 growth
Trump- 6,500 growth

Note: Trump took office on a market high

Listen, ive never said the market didnt fair well under Obama, but he did have the advantage to start his term at the start of a bull market.

Another note: In reality the market will do what it's gonna do in despite of any presidents actions... for the most part.

The point remains the record highs under Trump would not have been possible without the run up under Obama, something the Trump fans fail to acknowledge. In addition Obama took office during the worst economic situation this country has faced since the Depression, under the GOP watch by the way, and restore prosperity. This is not my opinion, it's fact.

As you said in the close the market will do what it does and the President has very little to do with that. Which again makes Trump's constant bragging about the returns him look like an even bigger ass.

Obama took office at the "end" of the worst modern day market plunge. Most financial analyst will tell you to enter the market on a low and stay far far away on a high. Obama did have the advantage in that regard. Now to be fair to Obama he did perhaps stabilize the already fragile market and help turn it around, but to still be clamoring about the market rise with the Obama effect is ignorance.

Based on the numbers and timelines you provided...

Obama - 52% return
Trump - 39% return

And mind you I had to give Trump extra credit since your math was wrong.

Also the argument that taking over in the middle of a financial crisis is better than taking over in the middle of a recovery is really something.

You either have no idea how this stuff works or youre dishonest enough to not care that you're putting out incredibly misleading information.

Am I missing something? Most politicians are partisan hacks.

Doesn't mean you should excuse it from people in this thread.

I was simply responding to you making comments about partisanship. You claimed republicans were, but it is funny that democrats all vote exactly the same, and this includes the SCOTUS.

Why should we increase immigration?

Again I am not crediting Obama with the rise in the stock market. I clearly said no President is responsible for the market, a point we agree on.

No I was referring to his track record of stabilizing an economy that was in shambles, a mess created during the 8 year run by the previous GOP President, when he took office. My only reference to Obama and the market was to point out what an idiot Trump is for crowing about the record highs which would not have been possible without the 8 year run up, which also contained several record highs, before he took office.

All good. Lets just hope the stock market continues to rise (amidst the moans and groans of the left) something ill never understand,, because it only benefits the world.

The market was down across the board in 2018, this is not a day to day or week to week situation. The Dow fell 5.6%. The S&P 500 was down 6.2% and the Nasdaq fell 4%, this was the worst year for market returns in a decade. Where was Trump when asked about it? He ignored the question all year, only to preen the minute it came back.
He should have ignored it. Anyone with any market sense knows that that was an expected correction to a very hot economic situation. But he has every right to crow that his economic policies have indeed put this country in a better economic situation that it has been in decades. And as a result of a good economic environment, one of the side benefits is usually a growing stock market. Just as any other president would do.

You continue to harp on the Trump supporters as being closed minded, etc. and not facing the truth about Trump. And to a certain extent, I agree with you. There are huge warts with this guy that too many are willing to overlook. But you don't need to manufacture issues. That's what this particular gripe of yours with Trump is. By doing this, you feed the Trump supports with realistic ammo to complain of the "fake" news mantra.

I fail to see how I am giving his supporters any ammo by correctly pointing our he is an idiot for constenttly taking credit for the record highs, he is wrong to do this, we both agree, yet he has done it over and over again. No I'll continue to call out Trump when his actions call for it.

No, we don't agree. He has every right to claim that credit. Just as any other president would also. This is where you are exhibiting the same behavior you chide the trump supporters of. You just happen to see what ever he does as a negative on him solely.

I give him credit for maintaining the economy in a positive trajectory. That is some what hedged by the fact that he has also increased the deficit and the national debt, two things he promised he would get under control but has not done and shown not intention of doing.

Its great that rich people are making more money and that middle class people are not getting beat over the head with inflation at this time. But most of his other policies are shit and play to no one but his base.
