We all know by now that Pace will pull the trigger in either direction if he thinks it will benefit the team. Even tho we are not scheduled to pick until #87, there's always room for some type of trade. We don't have much with which to bargain, but we do have a couple of 2020 second rounders to maybe move up in this draft. And it's not out of the question that the pick from the Raiders might turn into one of those defacto late first round selections.

So Pace could very well have some trade bait here if he has a chub over a player who remains on his BPA board, say in the late 2nd round. I have no idea who that specific player would be, but I'm thinking the only positions in which he'd be willing to trade up in order to obtain one would be CB, Edge, or RB.

The other thought would be him trading back simply to acquire some additional bodies. I think this might have been a more logical idea if we ended '18 with a crappy record. But the taste of SB blood is in the air and I think he wants to go for it by trading up.

If there's anything, i'm guessing trade up. He'll want to secure a running back he really likes a lot, otherwise i could see him trading down a touch to fill the deep roster with some raw talents from the 4th round on. I wouldn't put it past him to draft a kicker in the 7th either.

With the Bears being short on draft picks this year and likewise to a lesser extent next year, normally you'd think to either stand pat or even trade down and nab a couple more. But I threw the trade-up option out there because of our two 2nd rounders for 2020, and we all know Pace is a bit of a gambler. I don't necessarily expect such a move, but I certainly wouldn't rule it out. As for drafting a kicker, yeah, it's definitely a possibility. Don't we have two picks in the 7th round or is one of them a conditional?

We're actually on pace to have have 10 picks next year. 2 2nds, 2 4ths, 5 5th/6ths and a 7th. When it comes to re-stocking the roster, i think Pace will use that draft to do that. We're still in a fairly narrow window while Trubisky is on his rookie deal. We've basically got next season and the one after that before Trubisky needs to be paid. And if he doesn't need to be paid a big deal then it wouldn't matter cause we wouldn't be good enough to win a superbowl these next seasons anyway.

Discussion, just like we're doing.

So you asked the question whether Pace will trade up or down or not. I respond by saying it's situational. You agree. Then what's there to talk about?

I don't have a crystal ball. I put a post out there for discussion. If the guys want to discuss in greater detail, fine. If not, that's fine too. If you feel there should be nothing more to discuss on the matter, again fine. I'm certainly not twisting your arm.

I had no idea we have that many or are any of those compensatory? In any event, next year's draft will be good for restocking purposes, this year is hopefully to fill in the final gaps remaining.

I could see them trading up to get a running back they really like. I think they are looking for rotational pass rushers, defensive linemen, and offensive linemen.

I can see them doing just about anything. Therefore making this thread stupid.

Lets start a thread where we discuss after I flip a coin, which side the coin is going to land. Which is exactly what this thread is.

Not too sure on trading up for a RB when you can find guys like Cohen in the 4th. Who ever we draft for RB is must likely a 3rd stringer.

I believe this year's draft is loaded with edge players, I'll say we draft up for one of them.

Which draft pick would you be willing to give up for Gould?
