Great start by the Brew Crew. I hope the Cardinals can keep them close.

It's good to be on top.

Will be interesting to see how this weekend goes with the struggling Cubs coming to town. Hopefully the Brew Crew can win the series but you never know when those 2 teams are playing each other.

The crazy part is all the wins except for one was by just 1 run. Usually the Brewers have been on the losing side of the 1 run games.

Me, too. The end of the season last year was the most enjoyable season of baseball ever for me. A close race is always more exciting.

The best part is, even if they, Gawd forbid, sweep us, we will still be ahead of them.

It is quite early to jockey for position. At least nobody has said how far back they are in the wild-card yet.

I have never believed in the idea that a game in April counts less than one in September. Play them all to win.

I echo what Myles posted, great start for your Brew Crew. I've got a feeling when you make your first trip to St. Louis there will be fannies in most of the seats screaming for a little pay back but of course it remains to be seen if this will happen or not.

Well, yeah that math checks out. But being in first place right now is not much different from being in 4th place. You win 5 straight, and you're in there.

The other teams have to play better baseball than us the rest of the way. They can play a couple of games better than us and we still win the pennant. Every game counts. A sense of urgency wins games.

Didn't the brew crew rocket out of the gate a few years ago, and then never did 500 ball by any other month and missed the playoffs?

Yup, but what exactly does that have to do with this year?

Did you read the quote I responded to?

Anyway, Cards shildt the bed. Using Reyes on the MLB roster is a huge mistake...evident by today. Should have been tooling down in AAA because he has hardly thrown any innings over 2 years.

Apparently still learning the hitting style their coach preaches, and it's getting uglier. Yadi batting 071 and doesn't even attempt to block a pitch in the dirt, which leads to runners moving up and later one of them scores.

Could be, and all discussions about how they all count isn't exactly the point. If your ace tears up an elbow, and your middle infielders both get hurt and a dozen other things ... whatever all that means.

But if you got white knuckles now a week into the season, there are some pretty good examples of teams that turned it around in July. I might suggest the Cardinals were among them just last year.

If we want to keep discussing if a win in April counts the same as one in September, it's hardly the point I am making. It's that being in first place on the 6th of April is not allowing anybody to go .... '' ooooo ... look at them Twins!"

So far 13 runs in the bottom of the 8th. Watching the TV broadcast they say that is the most runs the Brewers have ever scored against the Cubs in Miller Park. They said they had 12 a few times. And it is nice to see a lead larger than 1 run.
