Eagles acquired Howard from the Bears for a conditional six round pick. Love it now let's kill this draft.

For that price it's a solid addition ... he takes the role L Blount had when he was here. A between the tackles power Back and goal line guy. That being said, I see the Eagles still looking at RB in the draft ... all this does is prevent them from reaching, instead snagging a RB when there is value in the pick. Weather that's Rd 1, 2 or 4 ... we don't know. My guess is we will look at one in Rd 4 or 5.

Had a feeling he'd land here.

For what we gave up this is a very solid, position stabilizing move.

I’m stoked for this. I felt a big piece of what plagued the running game last year was not having that power between the Tackles that Blount had given us. And I think Howard can totally fill that role.

Combine that with the fact he was dirt cheap (although....admitted that the price tag causes some alarm) and this is great for the position.

No doubt they still take RB in draft. But it’s a great thing to not feel like you have to reach. Still a chance that Ajayi still finds his way back here for the year. Not sure what will be there....but I’m sure any deal that brings him back wouldn’t cost much to find out.

Yet another piece added without it affecting next year's compensation picks. Added DJax, Malik Jackson and now Howard via either trade or cap casualty.

Yes, add Howard to Clement, and a mid round pick, and we're in good shape RB wise. Maybe Justice Hill, or Darrell Henderson in the 4th round, we have a good stable of runners.

They have donnt. e a great job this offseason addressing the need areas. The only thing I feel we need to upgrade is LB. I feel we are pretty good all around at this poi

I'm hoping that Howie will pull off a big trade-up and pick Devin White, LB, LSU. He could be the next great NFL LB'er.

You guys will love Howard, IMO. Hard working, humbled dude and a hard runner. I think through his first two seasons he had the 2nd or 3rd most forced miss tackles during that time. He was phenomenal those two seasons. Last season Nagy tried to deploy him in a way that he simply isn't meant for and also ran him behind blocking schemes that just weren't a good fit. He finished the season very strong when Nagy switched it up to more of a zone blocking scheme.

He barely missed 1,000 yards last year in a down season. He could certainly accumulate more than that for you guys if given enough carries. I expect this to be a successful move.

Oh... and I'm still not over the wild card game. So, screw you guys for that and stealing one of my favorite Bears on the cheap :D:suds:

Here's how we can move up to get Devin white:
CBS Sports' Mock has us trading #25, & #53 to the Jags for #13, and draft White.
I think that would work. I'm calling Howie today!

After we get White, here is who we need to draft @ #57:
Analyst: Chauncey Gardner-Johnson is best safety in upcoming NFL Draft.
CBS Sports has us taking him at 57, and Dallas follows @ 58, and they are high on him. So, we need to make these two moves. We get our LB of the future, and the safety of the future. McLeod may not be the same, and Malcolm is getting old.

Sorry....I just don’t see the team valuing LB that much.

I can't see us moving that far up for a LB ... we just don't value the position that much. We'll draft one somewhere, but it will probably be outside of the 1st Rd.

Would that be enough to move that far up?

I just checked the draft values data and while it’s techically 60 points short of equal, that’s pretty close.

I just don’t see them going LB with it if they were to do it. If they really have their eye on a lineman than it is possible. But not having a 3rd this year might even weigh against that.

I've been interested of late with Oliver. We never have enough interior lineman.

That’s the name that popped to mind for me as well. I thought I saw this weekend that he had a visit, or will have one.

Not normally Rey, but White is a generational talent, and we haven't had a star LB'er for a long time. White can be a game changer. IMO.
