Kyrie was for the most part pretty much a consensus---- but thats a far way away from there being a cant-miss slam dunk #1 pick like a Zion or KAT or Davis or Griffin or Simmons etc. which the CAvs never had.
Um

What? Not even that local HS kid?

I think they are going after Doc Rivers.

I saw that Vescey report today. I can't remember the last time Peter Vescey was relevant (probably the 90s, or the early 00s at the latest) so it might not be anything to it. On the other hand, its not the first time I've seen Doc's name come up on places where people talk NBA.

My biggest trip up would be would Doc really want to coach Lebron? Lebron, for most of is career, has shown he doesn't want to be coached. He wants to do what he wants and the coach is just there for the other guys and to get blame. The one time he had to accept coaching was from Spo in Miami when Riley bowed up to Team Lebron and said they aren't firing him. That was also when Lebron played his best ball. Not a coincedence. But some say that is what started the wheels on Lebron planning his exit out of Miami.

This is a long way of saying Doc is better off where he is. It's not likely Lebron is gonna let Doc fully coach and I'm sure Ballmer will match whatever offer the Lakers make for him.

Interesting.

And DeRozan hit like 4 ridiculous shots in the 4th quarter that couldn't have been defended any better.

Sometimes guys make shots over great defense. They were all extremely well contested fade away mid range jumpers. Shots DeRozan can make, but also the worst shots in basketball according to analytics. Klay did his job defensively.

wasn't here at the time, but I wouldn't rip you for that statement. Just implies you couldn't be sure and nothing wrong with that.

Made a similar comment when the Browns traded Coleman to the Pats. Figured he'd go for 900 yards and 8 TDs or be released within 3 games.

Of course not. It was a good post. And NOBODY was sure what Sexton would be back in October when this post was made. I wasn't trying to make a prediction, just offering up comps to show how wide his array potential outcomes was.

He looks a lot like young Kemba now.

And that was spelled out great. Certainly better than this attempt........"The premise was, don't blow your load on loading up on draft picks and your grand scheme thinking history repeats itself in this case. From all of those number 1 picks that Cleveland was lucky to land, it still took Lebron returning to make it actually work. Salary cap space and draft picks doesn't always work. Hell, you guys gave the Lakers shit for years while having Lebron return and they're still not close to a title. So maybe consider yourself in that same scenario.."

Was mostly that last part that made no sense, though, and still doesn't.

But to your point. Are there so many teams run better in cold weather small-medium markets? They have an owner who has shown money will never be an object to winning. They have tried to tank 2 times and succeeded each time.

Agree the cap space might not work as we aren't South Beach or LA to lure FAs, but having it can help in trades and also to take bad deals along with good players and/or picks.

It makes complete sense if you have one functioning brain cell.

In terms of teams that are ran better in small-medium markets - I'm looking at the Bucks and Pacers off the top of my head. Maybe even Denver as well. If we take weather out of the equation, the Spurs would be the first franchise I'd name. And don't get me started on the city of San Antonio, having lived there for nearly 2 years, that place is a dump.

I'm sure he did. I'm also guessing in the example with Klay covering Harden he missed some shots he usually makes.

Great, then feel free to explain what you meant by this, the point you were trying to make - Hell, you guys gave the Lakers shit for years while having Lebron return and they're still not close to a title. So maybe consider yourself in that same scenario.."

The Bucks, Denver and Indiana are run better than Gilbert has run the Cavs? Denver is about to make their first playoff appearance in, what, 5-6 seasons? Has Indiana been relevant since Lebron was in Miami? Pre Giannis (and, really, pre this season) when was the last time Milwaukee mattered? Did this come from your one functioning brain cell?

Sure, IF you take weather out of the equation you could count SA. But weather matters and it's a little nicer in TX than here.

I didn't even see that article.

Windhurst floated the idea over a week ago on the Jump.

I have reservations on the validity of this report.

After the CP3 debacle, why would LeBron want to play for Doc?

After the Cp3 debacle, why would Doc want to Coach LeBron?

It is possible that Doc feels resentful about having his front office position stripped.

But, I'm positive that Balmer will break the bank to keep him away from the Lakers.

That has a way of soothing a bruised ego.

@WiggyRuss

More disappointing career so far....

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson or Michael Kidd-Gilchrest?

Neither has improved much since being drafted. But, at least the Nets didn't give Rondae a 4/52 extension like the Bees did with MKG.

Folks, fell your Teams to stop drafting Dude's with hyphenated names.

Nope, Klay sucks. Stats matter.

Whether or not the shot was made is irrelevant to the quality of defense being made. If a player contests every single shot to the best of humanly possible, yet the opponent makes every bucket, does that mean he is a bad defender?
