You will never convince me that sitting is better than playing and showing what you have. Besides Miami may not be as bad as some think. They have only got rid of mainly old players and bad contracts. My major concern besides QB is the oline it definitely has to be fixed which isn't impossible...
Of course no one will ever convince you. Rational went out the window a while ago with you and you don't even want to hear the other side in this discussion.

It's ridiculous that a guy who has never spoken to Bridgewater - never mind can only take a snap in the NFL in his dreams - thinks he has a clue what TB should do and calls him a coward. And, really, only because he didn't join the sorry team he cheers for.
100% correct. He's a former first round pick who has been decent in his career, but he still could stand some time learning the game. He also just turned 26 a few months ago, so he has plenty of time. If he went to Miami and bombed (most likely scenario), his career could be basically washed up. If he waits one more year, learns from Brees, and comes back out next summer, he could land in a great spot.

I can't think of many places I'd want to play QB in less than Miami right now. They were the most offensively deficient team in the NFL last year aside from Arizona, which was a trainwreck for many reasons. Payton obviously has a plan for him. No chance I'd gamble with a team like Miami at this point.

I have no idea, but unless it was for like $30m guaranteed, there's no way I'd even consider going there.
$30 mil I guess you could consider, but the guy is getting $7 mil for a season. Nothing wrong with that and as you pointed out he can reassess after next year if he chooses.

Truth be told, I don't get all the angst. I don't think the guy is very good to begin with.

Agreed. I think backup fits him well, but he's not taking any team to the promised land. At least not right now. Maybe he picks some things up from Brees and improves, it's hard to say, but Miami is in tank mode and should be focusing on grabbing their QB of the future in the 2020 draft IMO.

not to be a dick. BUt so the only thing they got rid of was old guys and bad contracts. and went 7-9. so u lost guys, and have no qb, but are gonna improve?
Didn't say that I said they may not be as bad as some think. Some are saying tanking or last but it's highly conceivable that they do a lot better. They still have a lot of young good talent that the average fan would not know. Howard for instance may just be one of the top CB's in football. We'll see how it comes together but of course if they go with Falk at QB it may not give them a chance no matter what if he's no good.

Newsflash - when it comes to making NFL decisions you are on the sidelines.
I'll take my opinion over your giving up without trying attitude any day. I've achieved success in life instead of waiting for it like Bridgewater. I really do hope that it works out for him but I can also see him missing the boat and fading away. Great decision... good for him.

The Giants trade Beckham and sign Tate.....not sure if Tate is worth that but they had to find a replacement for Beckham.

I wouldnt call Tate a replacement. More like a suitable rental. They lost their pnly pass rusher and top 3 WR. Rebuild in progress

No guarantees he doesn't. See how that works?
I think that it was a safe bet that he'd be starting in Miami so the odds were pretty stacked in his favour compared to waiting for brees to retire. You are delusional to think that it's guaranteed next season that he will start in NO nevermind them drafting another QB to compete. This is my point that you fail to understand. Take a job if it falls in your lap...

Tate will be the Giants #1 receiver so yeah, they brought him in to replace Beckham.....even if he isn't on his level.

Miami is not a good place for a QB. It hasn't been for years. Drew Brees is 40 years old, but Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, and a lot of other fantastic players on NO are not. He gets to continue to learn from one of the best QBs of all-time in a city that absolutely loves their team instead of risking going to Miami and seeing his career crash and burn. Miami hasn't had a consistently good QB in years. He's undoubtedly making the smart choice for his career.

BOOM.

If Brees retires within a few years, Bridgewater would still be like 28 and in his prime, fully recovered from the injuries, and in a good situation to succeed......meanwhile he has the best job in sports.....paid millions to be the backup QB....

Here is my point no one not even you guys who for some reason back his decision have any faith in him. He was given an opportunity to show himself possibly improve his value around the league yet it makes sense to hide behind brees for another year? Do you see anyone giving him 30 M of course not that's insane because he sat last year how on earth would that change next year by sitting again? He will be an unknown and another year older great plan of action for his career. I honestly feel bad for him he's getting bad advice. Sure the situation in Miami isn't perfect everyone knows this but at the same time if he proves himself he has a great chance of improving his stock. Sitting does 0...

Did you get paid $7 mil to "wait for it"?

If your goal is being a backup then good on him. My goal would be to be a starter a winner....

I don't fail to understand anything. You are calling a guy a coward and trying to determine his life and have never even spoken to him.

Do you know what NO has told him? Miami? Did Miami make him an offer and how much was it?

Bridewater has battled injuries.....he's not going to a team with a questionable (this is being nice) OL where he wouldn't get protection or playmakers to help the offense.....that was 26th in scoring.

If he went there and they struggled (not because he sucks, but because he doesn't have weapons) his career would be over and not due to his own abilities.

I do have faith in him, I think he can be a good player in the right situation with some weapons.....like the Saints when Brees retires.

And if he plays poorly with garbage teammates?
