So the mavs are basically getting all these national TV games because of Doncic. Lame as fuck. They have the second worst record in the west but let’s put them on TV because Doncic gets a triple double like once a month.

A lot of is Doncic but a good chunk of it is because they thought the Mavericks would be a better team. The TV schedule gets made before the season so they are anticipating which teams will good and/or interesting. The consensus was Dallas could be in the mix for the 8th seed and with Doncic there, that's where you get the logic of giving them more national TV games. It just didn't work out. I think the NBA and its TV partners would benefit by allowing some late season "flex" games like the NFL does, where you can sub in a more attractive match up

For the life of me I can't comprehend why Gonzaga has been ranked ahead of UVA for the last month. They haven't played anybody since December while UVA has been tearing up the ACC. Both have 2 losses, but UVA has a lot more quality wins.

For the life of me I can't comprehend why Gonzaga has been ranked ahead of UVA for the last month. They haven't played anybody since December while UVA has been tearing up the ACC. Both have 2 losses, but UVA has a lot more quality wins.

Why are you so worry about rankings?

They're not going to drop the Zags from the weekly pools as the top team once they kept winning.....However weekly polls are not the same as the brackets.

I don't think I saw anyone with the Zags as the overall #1 seed in any brackets since the new year. It was almost always a Duke/UVA conversation until Zion went down and Duke went 3-3 in those games.

What will be interesting to me is what happens if let's say UVA lose tonight while Duke goes on to win the ACC title. In a way I think you would have to give Duke the overall #1 seed as it would once again show how good they are when Zion is in the lineup.

Sexton scored 23 points in the loss against Orlando Thursday night -- his fourth consecutive game with at least 20 points, matching James, who accomplished that feat two different times during his first season.

OK...we can stick with just Love and Klay. Maybe you saw the defensive rankings from the 2017-18 season where Love was well ahead of Klay?

Not saying I think Love is the better defender (read that until it sinks in), but seems clear not as easy to gauge defense as some like to think.....where to them it's pretty much "I"m losing the argument, let's talk about defense."

A Los Angeles Lakers trade for New Orleans Pelicans star big man Anthony Davis is unlikely this summer, according to Marc Spears of ESPN.

“I have been told that there’s no way Anthony Davis is coming here, through the Pelicans,” Spears said on ESPN (via NBC Sports). They’re just not going to do it.”

The Lakers tried to complete a deal for Davis ahead of the trade deadline in early February, reportedly offering their young core of Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and several others, as well as multiple first-round picks. But the Pelicans rebuffed the offers, opting instead to try again to trade Davis during the summer.

Davis requested a trade in January. He is eligible for free agency in July 2020. His agent, Rich Paul, also represents Lakers star LeBron James, and it is believed Paul leaked the parameters of the proposed trade to the media.

ESPN personality Michael Wilbon, on the set with Spears, said he had heard similar news about the Lakers and Davis.

According to a report from Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report, Lakers owner Jeanie Buss contemplated trading James after being upset by Paul communicating with the media.

IF they don't get the best offer from LA I'm sure this is true, but I have to say the idea they wouldn't even listen to a pitch from LA seems absurd.
