Besides, Sexton is practically a SG anyway with his 2.9 apg average.
he will work on it. Kid has a great work ethic.

He came into this year with serious concerns about his 3 pt shooting- worked his ass off, and now he has the Cavs rookie record for most 3's for a rookie in Cavs history- and is doing it while shooting almost 40% from 3.

He will get there- especially once the talent gets a little more stable around him and a little better around him.

Which is why arenas need to do something to these fans.

I'm sure if you get banned from your favorite team arena for a season for racial comments or anything that crosses the line then this would stop ASAP.

...and they probably do so in many cases. Hell, the Knicks ban fans (and ex-players) for heckling the owner.

Not always a question of talent, but intent. He definitely has a scorer's mentality.

i agree--- he needs to have that mentality more..

this was an interesting excerpt from last nights game recap from the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

With 5:47 remaining, Sexton chased down a rebound and sprinted ahead. Using his blinding speed, a signature trait coming out of Alabama, Sexton charged forward against a trio of Raptors that were trying to get back in transition. Instead of attacking all of the at once, thinking about scoring first and getting to the rim, Sexton paused near the free-throw line, surveyed the situation quickly and tossed the ball to a trailing Kevin Love for a 3-pointer that pushed Cleveland’s lead to 11 points.

“That’s where you hope that he eventually gets to, that you see him in those situations time and time again and he’s making the right decision time and time again,” Drew said.

Is last night's game really the best example to use? A far superior opponent basically checked out of that game early on.

no, and in reality , its one play-

but i think it shows that he realizes that is an area that he needs to improve in. He isnt a selfish player- just a young one.

He prob. wont ever be a 10 assist guy a game, but he has the talent and work ethic and self awareness to realize he needs to up that part of his game to realize his full potential.

a 19 year old rookie coming to a team that traded away a ton of vets, fired its coach, lost lebron, and had their best player suffer a 3-4 month injury. It was always going to be a very trying year for Sexton and i think he has done a great job.

next year with some experience and continuity, if he is still only at 3 apg i would be surprised

I would be surprised if the current studs on GS would want Lebron if KD was going.

Depends, imo. He'd only be there for a couple of seasons. Can't imagine he could bring much drama since he can't exactly try to have Kerr replaced and wouldn't be able to complain about a lack of help.

Ok, but you could have kept the kids, signed Lebron and kept Randall.....or at least dealt Randall if you knew you were letting him walk.

Not getting into this bullshit with you again. This has been explained to you many times by several different posters.

I think I agree more with the second one, but nothing wrong with kicking the tires and seeing what you could get for him IF it meant maybe 2 among Durant, Kyrie and Kawhi would come.

I agree with the 2nd guy as well. But, I also agree that every option has to be considered, especially since Ingram is going to be untradeable for at least this off-season.

This guy ibaka is a clown.

I would suspend him 15 games just for being a retard and starting a fight for no reason

How the hell is it his fault that the Cavs guy got his neck enveloped in his gangly arms?

Two game suspension for Cavs guy, player of the week award for Ibaka.

On the Westbrook and fan thing:

According to the fan, he told Westbrook to "ice his knees", Westbrook says that the fan told him to "get on his knees".

Based on what has been said about that fans social media, it looks like the fan may have gone in with an agenda. Looks like there was a lot of stuff that targeted Westbrook.

I don't believe the fan just said "ice your knees" and the fan was wrong because it's likely that he crossed a line.

On the other hand, Westbrook can't be getting into it with fans. He should have gone to security and asked to have the fan removed. He was also wrong for threatening the guys wife, who apparently didn't say anything.

Agree that the NBA needs to crack down on some of the fan behavior that is going on.

Basic heckling, booing, telling a guy he sucks, is fine. But you can't be getting personal, going racial, etc. Not only is it wrong to say those kinds of things to players, but it ruins the experience for the other fans as well.

On the other hand, players can't be getting into it with fans. It's a bad look for them, their team and the league. It also makes them a target in every arena because there are idiot fans everywhere and it shows them that they can get into the guys head.

Hiring the actual celebrity? :noidea:
isnt that what they did with Magic? lol

just hired a celebrity- that, i mean- obviously he was a successful basketball player, but that certainly does not necessarily mean he knows what he is doing when it comes to being a front office exec.

Yeah, for Sexton, it might be similar to D-Lo. D-Lo stuggled a bit as the pg, but when Luke moved him to sg, he started thriving and has continued to do so in Brooklyn.

So did the Dodgers, same celebrity too.

So far, it's worked a little better for the Dodgers. lol

Yeah, he hasn't done a bad job, but he has also made some rookie mistakes as well.

He got them out of the Mozgov deal which was huge when it came to opening up cap space and he got Lebron. Those are pretty big moves.

A big part of what has happened is all of the injuries. Can't put that on Magic.

But, he let the AD trade attempt spin out of control and basically got trolled big time by Demps.

Also, he needed to either fire Luke or publicly support him. The constant speculation about Luke's job can't be helping the team.

The roster, after getting Lebron, isn't great. I give him a little bit of a pass because we don't know who he talked to or what was said. Not bringing back Lopez was an oversight, imo. Especially since Lopez said he'd consider coming back if they got Lebron.

Not that Lopez was going to be a difference maker on whether or not they made the playoffs, but with his ability to shoot the 3, he's closer to a modern NBA big than McGee. Plus, he already knew Luke's system and knew all of the kids from playing with them last year.

I'd have liked to see them sign both, McGee for his defense and rebounding and Lopez for his offense.
