That’s a single metric
You mean, like tackles?? Or sacks???

Okay...you did.
But it's not just the age of Jackson that makes this a bad pickup...and if you can't see that, it's largely because you don't want to see it. What has Jackson done (other than be ONLY 16 month older than the best DT in the game) to warrant such a contract?
He'll be an upgrade over Jernigan... and slightly cheaper.
What is there to hate about this deal?
You obviously didn’t get the memo that we are in cap hell. He'll be an upgrade over Jernigan... and slightly cheaper.

I'm confused if you are agreeing or disagreeing. You said it and you answered your own question. Bennett and Jernigan. Jernigan only barely played because he was hurt. He played half the game in your last game. I heard rumors Long may retire too (again). That would be 2 (3 ith Long) in the rotation down and added 1. Long obviously isn't cap related but Jernigan and Bennett were. I like Jackson, but my issue with this move for Philly is that if I were an Eagle fan I don't want them spending FA $'s on the DL where they are already very strong. They don't have a lot of wiggle room. I'd prefer them look for DBs.
Let's see he's a monster. Jacksonville paid him over 30 million in the first two years and got 14.5 sacks while they used him right.
But you already proved that you can't retain the education I give you. Will that continue?
Lubs me some Malk
Don't you Eagles fans think you need to add a CB?
I think Jackson is good, but I would have thought that money that went to Jackson could have helped the team more on the back-end.

Yea I wonder if it will turn into 16 pages of centers or rookie contract lengthOh I'm sure the majority will find 16 pages to make this thing into something it aint!
Based on the way the DB's played by the end of last season, arguably not. The biggest problem was depletion of DB's, and actually the loss of McLeod. What did not help was Jim Schwartz calling too fancy a game (turn-around literally when Jenkins told him at half-time against the Giants to keep the calls simple, and let the guys play).
