Eagles free agent signings:

Needs as I see them: RB is arguably the biggest need, followed by LB, DE, WR, DT.
In bold the serious losses in FA as I see them. If Chris Long returns, DE becomes less of a need (though IMHO the Eagles might draft one).

Brandon Graham: resigned

Paul Worrilow: resigned

Jake Elliot: resigned

Rick Lovato: resigned

Nick Foles: effectively released. I do think however that he is seriously overrated by many.

Michael Bennett: traded away. The only serious cap casualty.

Ronald Darby: effectively replaced last season due to injury. Not sure he is worth the money he will likely be offered.

Jordan Hicks: depends on the price. Out the season before, not very effective last season.

Jay Ajayi: Out for last season.

Golden Tate: Only effective in two play-off games.

Timmy Jernigan: presumably not returning. Presumably replaced by Jackson.

Haloti Ngata: Not good last season.

Chance Warmack: reserve guard, mediocre at best.

Mike Wallace: effectively out for the season. Rumour has it Desean Jackson will replace him.

Corey Graham: bad safety, effectively done. Already replaced effectively by others on the team (by the end of the season he only played because of a slew of injuries in the backfield).

Darren Sproles: might return.

Richard Rodgers: Out for much of the season, 3rd TE at best.

Jordan Matthews: did better than expected, but only returned because of a slew of WR injuries.

LaRoy Reynolds: ST LB

DJ Alexander: ST LB

I'm sold. With resigning a has been LB/ST player, a kicker and a LS they are much stronger.

No, the defense played great even with the top 3 cbs hurt most of the year.

D-line played great, the secondary I would say started playing well the last 4 or 5 games.

Meh

I think the pts/gm is the better sort where you'll find the Eagles in the top half of the league. Schwartz runs a bend don't break defense so the Eagles are never gonna be tops in yards.
Well, they were 4th in total yards against in 2017 so I'm not sure that is true...

I think it's time to bring back the wide 9!!!

Instead of going around and around here, how about I just inform you we're paying it for his 2019, 2020 and maybe 2021 production.

Fair point.

That I kinda knew...$30 mil just rolls off easier...my opening post I said we need to see the guaranteed $ before we can really say, but on the surface...

I'm going to :tj: and turn it into how the Eagles need to sign Bridgewater

TEDDY BRIDGEWATERQB, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Saints re-signed Teddy Bridgewater.
According to NFL Network's Jane Slater, Bridgewater had a bigger offer on the table from the Dolphins, who also could give him a chance to compete for a starting job, but he decided to stick around as Drew Brees' backup and potential successor. It is great news for the win-now Saints, who will retain one of the best backups in the league.

Well the secondary had all those guys that played those games coming back.
Which is what matters here.
They might add a CB because they have the money, but it's not a priority. If they really want one with more experience they'll probably just keep Darby.
