I’d like to publicly backtrack most of my Paul George criticism. I’ve always said he was an overhyped wannabe top tier player. This change of scenery and somehow good chemistry with Russ is apparently working wonders for him. He is playing like a top 10 guy. He should be option A on OKC in crunch time not Russ.

I have been watching and I have noticed Russ actually deferring to PG more than he ever did to KD.

I think he's a bit confused by how poorly he's shooting. He may be losing a bit of aggressiveness as a result.

I always stuck up for PG13 so none of this surprises me. He was a beast in Indiana especially in some of those playoff series against Cleveland

Last one for me.....only one of those I recall getting any real run before it went down was Kevin Love. Only signs of Kawhi to Toronto or Kyrie to Boston that I can recall is they were players who asked to be dealt and Toronto and Boston are among the 30 NBA teams where they could have been dealt.

For sure in the last 2-3 years these deals seem to come out of left field for us (which I like). Porzingis, Cousins and PG (as you mentioned). I don't even know any Cavs fans who saw last year's deadline deals coming. Other biggies were Kyrie and Kawhi. Even if you want to believe we had an inkling about Kyrie and Kawhi (Toronto? Really?). my comment stands....we were clueless on the majority of deals that went down.

And lets add Harris to that, as well.

Were the Kyrie and Kawhi deals known weeks before like the Love deal?

Of course not. But it was definitely reported that the 2 teams involved were engaged in serious negotiations at least a day before the deals got finalized.

And the Cavs deadline deals last year were not biggies.

You do get Davis has said he never gave any terms to NO on where he needed to go? Said they need to do what's best for them and if they want him on the court that's where he will be.

He should have said unnamed sources told him this.

Even as a Cavs' fan I don't recall hearing anything about Kyrie going to Boston until it was done. Can't say I heard anything about Kawhi and Toronto, but obviously I don't follow Toronto as closely.

Agree the deadline deals were smaller deals.

I don't disagree with this, but I have to say I never saw Davis say anything until well after the reporters told us what he said through unnamed sources......not from Davis mouth (or tweet).
