Vernon and Gore are the only guy's that were really good from that list lol. You act like Kaep had a Brown, Hopkins, Jones, or OBJ to throw to lmao.

Heres a reporter saying it wasn't the money. I'll just believe Pete.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/06/05/seahawks-kaepernick-arent-apart-on-money/

You're refusing to accept the numbers he's put up through all his football stupidity. You can be football ret*** all you want, but if you produce at a mid tier QB level, then you're a mid tier QB.

Wow. This is the level of cluelessness people devolve into when they let their political boners drive their football analysis. :L

You're making excuses for Kaepernick because he didn't have enough "help", but write off Keenum as a bum (which he is, by the way - that's not my point) who needed Thielen and Diggs to throw to in order to succeed?

Either we make endless excuses for QB's sucking because they didn't have enough "help", or we still largely acknowledge their shortcomings regardless of said help. Quit talking out of both side of your mouth and be consistent with your line of reasoning behind your arguments.

More excuses, eh? Always something hindering ol' Kaep that makes his shortcomings not his own fault, I see.

Do you have a job, or do you just live off of government cheese while refusing to work?

I said Kaep had a good year with Kerley as a #1. I don't think Keenum could do that. Nothing I originally said contradicts that, so I have no clue what you're going on about lol.

I never said he doesn't have shortcomings, but Kaep was in a s****y situation after his first year and a half, there's no denying it. People act like his 2014 was some Osweiler type performance, when it was really more comparable to Cam who won MVP the next season.

Yea, throwing out Moss and Boldin as if they weren't old as s***, and using mediocre WRs like Ginn and Crab as if Kaep was on some LAR/KC/Pitt offense.......you really know your stuff lol.

Like i said from the start, you're one of the few people more full of s*** than your boy Kaep

You only had a few posts before going on this excuse making for Kaep tirade in this thread, yet you have a 2014 join date...

What's your real account, and what made you decide to pull up a 5-year old seldom used alt account to post all this drivel? Was your main account banned or something?

Sometimes average QBs struggle in s****y situations, on bad rosters, with poor coaching. Nick Foles never would have happened if we all decided his Rams debacle was it for him. S***, there was a time Kurt Warner was backing up Matt Leinart.

It's just stupidity to only focus on what a player does on garbage teams and dismiss what he did on good teams. Funny thing is he was actually pretty decent on a garbage team last time he played.

Not what I asked.

What's your main account and why are you posting this under this alt?

He was coming off the worst year of his career, he was covered in casts from 3 surgeries, he was on his way out of SF anyways, and he had a bad contract .

And there was still somebody that wanted him - John Elway. Kaep turned down his offer because it involved taking a pay cut, and stayed in SF for one more year instead.
speculation. And if hes a starting qb, capable of improving a team, someones gonna take him.

the excuses are insane.

Also why no one can give a rationale reason why reid has a job and kaep doesnt. Except "kaep was ground zero" reid is in the same damn lawsuit..........come on this is laughable. murderers get jobs if they are good enough

Who wants to take a deal with a different NFL team under the terms of the employer (like virtually everyone in this world) or go to the CFL/AAF on a reasonable deal only to likely end up fading away as a well paid backup level QB? I mean, when they can instead claim victim martyr status while getting paid lucratively by a corporate mega giant employer of Chinese sweat shop slave labor for an endorsement deal as a bunch of SJW's buy into all of their crying hook, line and sinker, throwing a football around seems like too much work to be filthy rich.
but but blackballed.

So I take it that the saga is not over and we will be talking about this idiot for quite some time. I have to hand it to the guy though. Takes a career that was heading toward quiet mediocrity and being forgotten and parlays this into staying relevant forever. Pretty savvy business acumen.

Like shitty people who have committed crimes? Kaepernick is good enough to be on an NFL roster is the only point that I think most people are making. I'm not going to try and argue that he'd be an MVP candidate if a team signed him.

You are forgetting the baggage.

The baggage is a huge reason he is not signed. Instant media circus is what he would bring to your team along with lower rung QB talent. What organisation needs that?

That is not collusion but common downside management decisions that most NFL teams make.

But the true value in that payment must have included a Non-disparagement clause.
That is what would be worth it to the NFL. They get to gag a high profile activist from criticizing the NFL for life.

I would be shocked if that clause was not in there.

Where's the speculation? Elway did try to trade for him, he was coming off his worst season, he did have multiple surgeries, and his contract was very bad for a player that just had a terrible season. There is no speculation in any of that bud lol it's all fact.

And yea, Kaep being the face of this whole thing, winning awards, and in Nike ads is probably why he's the target. Reid is not the problem, most people never heard of him until his name came out with Kaeps settlement. Playing hardball with Reid then signing him was a nice attempt by the league to show Kaep isn't blackballed, but it looks like it didn't work.

Yep and doesn’t prove anything to him being blackballed.

Nike was after the fact bud. Still zero in there proving blackballed

So were the awards. I listed those to show you he's the focal point and face of what the NFL owners hate. Sorry for losing you there.

I could care less about collusion tbh. It's obvious that he was out of the league over something petty, and he got paid for the lost wages. He was beyond good enough to be on a team, and got paid for it. The end.

See I dunno. Again Reid has a job. His starts were good and trending down, he was a gimmick like Tebow imho

Nobody in the NFL except maybe Matt Ryan had a better supporting cast than Kaeptard in his time with the Niners. Best OL in the league, best TE in the league (at the time), almost-HOF RB and a well-above-average corps of WRs. Any moron (Kaep) could put up good numbers in that situation.

He still had one of the best supporting casts in 2014, and the NFL had figured him out by then; so he sucked. When you can't read a defense nor see more than one target in the same play, defenses are going to get you.

But you're not interested in X's and O's; you're interested in his political stance. You can't be objective (Boldin had over 2200 yards in 2 seasons w/ the team, and your description is "old as s**t").

He did the same thing to Seattle as he did to the minor-league team who offered him a job; he asked for so much money that he knew they'd know it was a non-starter, so he could continue crying to mommy about it being unfair.

The guy wasn't gonna play for backup money.

I agree @NinerSickness . I always hate the narrative that the guy didn't have help because he didn't have a top 5 #1 WR or pro bowlers. The 49ers were a solid team with what you mentioned and a solid defense as well. Could have easily been a SB winner if not for running into a hot hand in Flacco and the Ravens. Fwiw, I liked Kaep and he had a couple of really good years and was able to win some big games when it mattered. But the guy never developed beyond that and took the next step and the rest of the league figured him out pretty quickly. He was never going to be a top tier starter again once the book was out on him. He was back-up/ spot starter and that is as far as he would go.
