21 days until the deadline what will we do?

9 games left, should make things interesting. But if they get closer, say within 3-4 points of a playoff spot, I kinda think you abandon the 'seller' tag and just stand pat at the deadline. Let these guys make a run and see what happens. That was my plan at the beginning of the season before the took a major crap for 40 games.

This is part of the reason I was/am so optimistic with the Flyers situation. Superstars are getting paid huge amounts these days. If the Flyers can get some things straightened out, their stars are on $8M contracts (Giroux/Voracek), that's a massive steal compared to what the Leafs, Oilers, Sabres, Jets, and some of the other 'next wave' are going to have to deal with on their stars.

Of course, the Bolts are still a massive threat because Yzerman was a wizard. But at least you have an advantage over some teams.

And over the past couple weeks (small sample obviously), they have started to figure out the most glaring holes. Goaltending and PK both looking way better.

I think if they could make the playoffs and win a round, it would be worth it to lose Simmonds for nothing. They have enough prospects at that 'late first rounder' level that they would likely get back for Simmonds. Obviously it'd be nice to have more guys at the Frost/Farabee/Myers level in the pool, but I think the playoff wins would be worth more. JMO though.

The recent win streak helps put them in a better negotiating position though. They can tell teams 'eh, that's not good enough, we'll just take a run with Simmonds on our team'. They couldn't have said that a week ago.

I think if the Flyers trade Simmer it might deflate the room.

If they are close I say they buy. Give these guys a shot in the arm and make the playoffs. Give our young guys another taste, you cant put value on that.

Not sure I'd go as far as buying. But I could definitely see Fletcher and the Flyers brass doing that. I guess I'm not totally opposed depending on what they give up. Frost/Farabee/Myers are off the table, as far as future assets go. After that I might be willing to buy.

With the caveat that they are 4 points or less out, on Feb. 25th.

Well not any of the top guys for sure but this team if they are close deserves a shot in the arm

Tons of assets in the minors

Word around Philly is they may trade Simmer.....
Then pick him up when his contract is up at the end of the year.

Could make for some sneaky shit, but it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Factor in how many of the Habs wins, were in the 6 team era-pretty impressive
