Klay Thompson going bananas for his dad and his hometown crowd. Sorry Lakers fans, he's taken.

35 points....on 16 shots. 7-7 on 3s. Efficient much?

Yeah, assuming he actually at least listens to other offers, I'm sure the Lakers will be looking to get him.

If he is inclined to leave, the Lakers will be able to make a strong case and the fact that he would get to play in front of his Dad, might be a selling point as well. Maybe his Dad will ground him if he doesn't come to the Lakers? lol

Plus, he doesn't seem to get the credit he deserves for what the Warriors have accomplished.

Having said that, he seems like the one guy (besides Steph) who is truly happy right where he is and doesn't seem like he really cares about credit.

So, I'll be mildly surprised if he even listens to other offers. And very surprised if he actually signs somewhere else.

Might be just heresay, but I think I recall somewhere reading that he'd actually might be less inclined to sign with the Lakers, citing his dad as a factor. Not that they have a bad relationship or anything, but I think on some level they clash with respects to basketball. Like it would be tougher for him to play in front of his dad on a nightly basis. Probably because his dad's critiques could be much more frequent and probably more distracting.

But Lakers are a hot destination if Klay was going to leave. I just don't think his dad being there has anything to do with it. Klay's bout that LA nightlife.

I'm not so sure he cares about playing in front of his dad as much as he likes having more rings than him. lol

Also, you joke about his dad grounding him, but I seriously think his dad being in LA is the reason (besides not wanting to play with LBJ) that he wouldn't want to be in LA.

So, I agree and I too would be surprised if he left GS.

So, he's been traded 3 times in one year.

He's been on the roster of 5 different teams during that time period and 3 of them have paid him to stay away.

That's some cold Shit.
Why won't he just see this as a sign to retire.

There's actually a few concern trolls here in SF on sports radio saying they "heard" he will take a max deal with the Lakers. Some 49er tweeted "#futureLaker" under his pic.

It's not impossible but feels pretty unlikely

Well,

If I had a job that paid me millions of dollars to do something I enjoyed, they would have to peel that jersey off me.

is draymond green losing his athleticism at age 28?

I think some of the wear and tear of him having to play the 5 is definitely factoring in to some of his decline. It's asking a lot of a guy 6'7" (probably shorter tbh) to basically play all 5 positions on defense.

He's not a guy I don't think that will hold up to his level of play past maybe 30. He'll have a pretty sharp decline if he's not able to produce offensively in the future, imo. He'll still be a quality starter, but not much more.

I get that, but when you can no longer do what it takes to maintain that level of play then he should seriously reconsider retiring. it happens to regular people too...we get old and the next step is retirement.

Why because the floor cleaners fucked up and almost got him injured again? I was pissed.

Not only that but the air ball kinda sealed the deal IMO.

If it was just the slip and that 3 at least hit rim, I wouldn't say it is shaqtin of the season

It's fun to speculate.

I mean, this is a Sports board.

But, him going anywhere is just a hopeless dream...

UNLESS....

The Dubs decide to lowball him.

If they open the bank, he won't even take meetings.

It will be Paul George 2.0.

He and his Dad have said it countless times.

All things equal, meaning money, he retires a Dub.

" Klay loves the Bay, no reason for him to look anyplace else, unless the Warriors tell him he’s unwanted or needed anymore. He’s not looking to leave, we all know that.”

“HE DOESN’T NEED TO BE ‘THE GUY,'” MYCHAL THOMPSON TOLD SIRIUSXM NBA RADIO (H/T THE SPORTING NEWS). “HE LOVES PLAYING THERE. HE LOVES PLAYING WITH STEPH AND KD AND THE WHOLE CREW. HE LOVES LIVING IN THE BAY AREA, IT’S A SPECIAL PLACE, AND THEY’RE GOING TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL, NEW ARENA IN A COUPLE OF YEARS IN SAN FRANCISCO. SO KLAY IS NOT LOOKING TO LEAVE. THAT’S UP TO THE WARRIORS.”

Athletes, Cops, Firemen usually hold on to long.

That's what happens when you let your job define you.

With that being said, Melo isn't completely washed.

His problem is, he still thinks he's a #1 or #2.

If he went into the Season trying to fit into a Vince Carter or even Tony Parker kinda support role, he'd have suitors.

But, this Dude still thinks he's a fucking starter.

If Melo could embrace being a 6th man, ala Jamal Crawford, dude could be a flame thrower, just waiting to happen. There's no question in my mind he could still average 15 a game off the bench for the next 3-4 years.
