Currently? Cardinals, Buccaneers, 49ers, Giants
NFC fans turning into a dumber version of team SEC, somehow.[/QUOTE]
I think it's possible to add the Redskins into the mix if they don't have Smith back until mid season. And the Lions is a possibility as well.
Honestly, there are a few teams capable of double digit losses depending on injuries to starting QB's. Packers & Seahawks aren't winning shit without Rodgers and Wilson.

edit: oops, I see you beat me to it, lol.

All of the divisions flip in power level every year except the AFC East. The Patriots are the uneven part of the NFL. The rest of the NFL is pretty even.

Well, the AFC East as a whole. The non-Pats teams in that division make the playoffs far less than one should expect, even if only afforded wild card opportunities, nor threatening the Pats in a serious manner in the division. It's really a perfect scenario for the Pats.

It’s kind of crazy how good / lucky they are.

I almost turned the game off after Brady choked it away on that interception with a minute left. Wait, that play was called back? How fucking lucky can you get?

That said, they deserved to win. They got second life and had some big throws/catches the rest of the game.

AFC East has had a QB issue. They've had some good teams but their QBs just haven't even been close to average compared to the rest of the NFL.

Its allowed the Patriots to have their biggest games be against the 2 top QBs from other AFC divisions. Usually Peyton and Big Ben. Alex Smith, Mahomes, Rivers, and Luck have also been mixed in.

Yep, claiming but the AFC is weak just because the Patriots have been so dominant is a lazy argument.

The AFC has won 12 of the last 20 Super Bowls and the Patriots won only five of them.

The rest of the AFC teams are 7-5 in Super Bowls over that span

The NFC is actually the weaker conference

What do the last 20 years have to do with the strength of each conference today?

34-30 in favor of the AFC, with the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 8th ranked team in the postseason by weighted DVOA. The only reason this thread even exists is the Patriots won; who happen to be the 8th ranked team. 10, 11, and 12 did not make the postseason on the AFC side, 13 did however in the Texans.

Right now today, there is no evidence that anything has changed. The AFC and NFC are equally strong.

If you just want to focus on this year, look at the record in out of conference games. I believe the AFC beat the NFC head to head so claiming that the AFC is top-heavy or whatever argument people want to make is invalid.

The conferences are equal. It just so happens that the greatest Dynasty the league has ever seen currently resides in the AFC. That's the only difference

Is this the same thing as the sexy coaches thread? Where McVay can’t win because he’s not married?

Or the alternating conference champs thread

Talk about being highly selective in your data.

Based on who has represented both conferences the opposite argument can be made.

The NFC is actually the stronger and far more competitive conference, which beats each other up before the SB; and which also increases the chance of the best NFC team actually being eliminated before the SB.

AFC SB winners over the past 20 seasons: Patriots, Steelers, Ravens, Bronco's, Colts.
Other AFC SB representatives: Titans and Raiders (in 2000 and 2003)

NFC SB winners over the past 20 seasons: Rams, Buccanneers, Giants, Saints, Packers, Seahawks and Eagles.
Other NFC SB representatives: Panthers, Bears, Cardinals, 49ers and Falcons.
