The Phillies did not make Harper an offer saturday. The Yankees and Dodgers are losing interest. The Nationals have dropped the offer that harper passed on for 30 million per year for 10 years. Their best offer now is 25 million per since they spent money on starting pitching. The Phillies need to be careful and not bid against them selves. Still this crap may continue for 2 more weeks.

I hear you Northwest. Seriously, the money they are attempting to give this guy belies any baseball logic. It just seems this is an activity in some sort of a circle jerk by a very screwed-up, whack-job of a front office that can't see just how incompetent they are and aren't concerned the least about putting together a true powerhouse both in pitching and fielding.

doesn't sound like 400 is in the cards. the highest i've seen on Machado is 8 for 250 and that might even be higher than the truth. Time to bring them both in.
The White Sox has offered Machado an 8 year deal.

Adams is a really good bench piece and plays a good outfield and can fly.

I wish we would have resigned him. He seems to own Aaron Nola.

Harper has NOTHING on this guy... I repeat NOTHING! :suds:

All joking aside and for the record:

Lane Adams 29, ATL, 2 yrs., good, unproven player.

111G, 134AB, 36H, 5 db, 1 3b, 7HR, 26RBI, 11SB, 14BB, 45K, .269/.340/.478

Bryce Harper, 26, WSH, 7 years: .279/.388/.512

2018: 550AB, 103R, 137H, 34 2b, 34HR, 100RBI, 13SB, 130BB, 169K, .249/.393/.496

The Phils may be using the Lane signing as a chip so they can tell Harper, "We'd like to squeeze you in, but ah, we could do 8 years, $250M mill, but that's tops."
