No...decline means they are already going down, which TW is.

Who said anything about prime picks? There are teams such as Philly, JAX, and the Rams that would go for RK and TW.

I kind of get a kick out of that because I always ask where in Philly they are from since I was born there and a large part of my family lived and still lives there. Mack makes game changing plays often. Generational player and one of the best at his position for sure. Ryan Kerrigan out of Purdue, well, fan favorite type of player who will one day be in the Redskins ring of honor, and quite frankly, a nice story.

Honestly, I have nothing against Kerrigan, he is indeed a very good player. @Sportster 72 and I just poke at one another in fun over a subject that he unwittingly confessed to agreeing with me when he referred to RK as "vanilla." In comparison there's no one who who say the same about K. Mack. Dynamic yep, game changer, of course, and as you've done "generational." I also agree that RK ends up in our ROF and with @Sportster 72 when he correctly describes him as "vanilla."

As Sty said we have been tossing barbs at each other for a couple of years, all in good fun. They are both great players but at the same time I have illustrated that Kerrigan is Mack's equal. You couldn't go wrong with either player. The big difference is Mack is several years younger.

Yep & this is a real issue in the current era. Lots of kids don't really like the NFL that much & if they do they (& other people) have a tendency to latch on to other, successful teams (Eagles, Pats & yes Boys even though they have not really been that successful). This happens for any number of reasons.

To expect anyone under a certain age to give a shit about the Redskins is just insane. The team has provided the fans next to nothing since the early-mid 90s. Only primarily fans that were around during the SB era really care & even they are reaching their limit.

If Snyder is sincere about the fact that he is a diehard Redskins fan then you would have to believe that he cares about more than $$ (& even if does just care just about money that will always be there, but it is going downhill & rich people always want to have as much money as possible). I think he cares, but his ego makes him believe that he is on the rt track - & that he knows better - in spite of the numerous facts that suggest otherwise. Injuries have been a convenient excuse for him during the last few years (& again I believe that they contribute but are not the primary reason for limited success).

Oh well - it will interesting to see how far downhill this needs to go before Snyder realizes that something dramatic needs to change. Perhaps he is thinking this now, but we don't know because he never, ever talks to the media or lets his thoughts be known. Frustrating for fans (& again I wouldn't care what he thought if they didn't run the team like a bunch of morons).

Just like Bill Bidwell's Cardinals and some other teams with poor ownership I don't expect the Redskins will ever do anything other than a freak season every ten years or so. Look at the Cowboys, they had great success when Jimmy was there but mediocre to poor since. It does seem that Jone's son has helped to improve things lately.

I'd make him strip, repaint and recaulk the house.

I'd make him volunteer at the local no-kill shelter.

I would take the one time, forty million dollar hit because I rip the band-aid off. It would also bring us to a harsh reality and have us look it into the face. We are screwed next year.

Let’s be honest, if AS can EVER return, it won’t be next year. It will be 2020, and it won’t be to his current form which already sucks ass. So that puts us in competition in 3 years.

Our best players are TW, RK, JR, JC, and Josh Norman.

TW is 30. He will be 32 in 2020. Trading him will save us 8 million against the cap and allow him to compete for a winner.

RK is the same age as TW. Trading him will save us 10 million and allow him to compete for a winner.

JR can’t stay healthy at any age. He will be 30 in 2020. Do you expect this to improve? Saves us 6 million.

JC we should simply not resign. We have a hopeful replacement and he isn’t anything special. This will likely save us 6-8 million per season, just like passing on PS.

Josh Norman hasn’t been special but has been better than most want to credit him for being. Cutting him saves 8 million.

I just saved us the 40 million and now we can build for the future and resigning the good young talent we have in Scherff, Allen, Ionoman, Payne, and Fuller...oops, we traded Fuller.

Very unfortunate situation, but it's football...it happens.

The chances of AS coming back and even being the 2018 version pre injury are not very good. If he was 28 and really tearing it up, maybe you wait yr and see how he's progressing, but he's 34 and he was not tearing up the league. You take the hit now and start the rebuild.

When a franchise can't meet their statistical norm (I predicted 9-7, 10-6) based upon that) it's time to, make changes. Of course I've been calling for a dedicated GM since 2012 and that too hasn't been realized. The shame of it all is, for the first time in my entire life, (I believe that I'm the oldest poster on this forum) during this past season, I began to question my loyalty to this team.

Me too Sty. I don't think I could ever root for a team the way I have the Redskins. By the same token I was happy for Philly and my family there. I have always like Pittsburgh. I root for some players or coaches. Some of whom you know. I think I am 2nd oldest here, I don't expect to see the Redskins to be dominant again. 10-6 has been a high water mark.
