When someone post stupid shit and they have a Michigan logo (hence, representing the team), I expect post of a certain quality that I don't expect from other teams. No whining and intelligence.

You take things way too seriously.

Because when teams are ready they NEVER lose right?

Whatever you say, boss! Stop taking things so personally.

Wrong, we were ready against ohio state ... they beat us ... it really is that simple.

So what was the point of saying "both teams will be ready"? Noone said they wouldn't be ready. Neither team can cost themselves the game or make mistakes to cost themselves the game, is what was said.

Teams are always ready. Do you think coaches that have been successful and are paid millions don't know how to get their teams ready? And by coaches, I mean EVERY coach in Division I college football.

I might be making this up but didn't Kentucky beat Florida in Gainesville and therefore finish ahead of them?

Yeah, you're making this up. Kentucky is ranked well behind the Gators by the playoff committee, the writers and the coaches. Fluke wins do nothing to change the perception of Florida...and Kentucky. You're still Kentucky. Good season though. You guys should be proud...

0-4

Maybe the underlying plot here is that the bowls are going to keep giving Florida a shot at us until they actually win one.

Yeah, ok. Nobody cares. So-fucking-boring. The only reason this is a game is half your shitty state is down here for the entire winter.

How about we just forfeit now rather than enduring this defensive struggle?

Yes, you did. I'd much rather play Oregon in your bowl game. If we crush Florida people will go "yeah, that's expected. Florida isn't that good". If we lose to Florida, "Lol, Michigan lost to a weak Florida team". There's nothing interesting about this matchup.

Not saying Florida is particularly strong, but how can they be weak if they are ranked in the top ten, 2-3 places behind Michigan?

There aren't 10 teams in the country good enough to be in the top 10 lol

I'm talking about the national perception. You lost to Kentucky man.

NOONE SAID THEY WOULDN'T BE READY! Jesus fucking Christ dude.

They only say that after they lose, particularly to a program that they deem inferior to their own.

"The players didn't care..."
"The players overlooked them..."
"Our players looked at Atlanta as a warm weather vacation, while the opponents looked at the game as their MNC game..."
"It's only an exhibition anyway. Who cares?"
"We'd beat them 9 times out of ten. This was an aberration..."

This is before they start throwing unfavored players and coaches under the bus...

Kentucky is ranked 15th, a 9-3 team. Ohio State lost to 6-6 Purdue in a blowout. Didn't matter much to you, did it? Shit happens...

Perception is not, never has been, and never shall be, reality...

Seriously, whatever.

Just as long as those classless fucktards from Ohio stay the fuck out, I'm good with anything.

@MAIZEandBLUE09 doesn't understand that transitive properties don't work in college football.

Might that include UCF? We'll find out on New Year's Day when they play a school currently outside the top ten...

Yeah, but still Kentucky. If Michigan wins the win will be undercut by the perception that Florida wasn't that great.

I live my value-investor life in a 'reversion to the mean' mindset. This bet is no different.

Reversion to the Mean
Reversion to the mean, also called regression to the mean, is the statistical phenomenon stating that the greater the deviation of a random variate from its mean, the greater the probability that the next measured variate will deviate less far. In other words, an extreme event is likely to be followed by a less extreme event.

Although this phenomenon appears to violate the definition of independent events, it simply reflects the fact that the probability density function

of any random variable
Inline2.gif
, by definition, is nonnegative over every interval and integrates to one over the interval
Inline3.gif
. Thus, as you move away from the mean, the proportion of the distribution that lies closer to the mean than you do increases continuously. Formally,

No, that might not include UCF lol.

But this game against LSU is gonna be MUCH harder than it would've looked 2 weeks ago when Milton was still our QB.
