'Terrible hockey players' don't score 30 goals in the NHL. That's what pisses me off about your stance on him. You think he's terrible and he's very clearly, objectively, not terrible.
Cmon Awaz all he does is stand in front of the net while Simmer and Weal ( and every other player he's played with) are flying around the zone hitting people making passes getting steals and doing all the work and big puss gets a tap in every 5th game.

Nothing more than a bottom 6 player. He was third line winger last year and this year.

Servalli says on twitter that Holmgren and Dubas have talked re: Nylander and the Flyers are one of the teams the Leafs circled back to for "last call".

I like Nylander, but IMO this was the Leafs reaching out to the Flyers because the Flyers have what they want. Nylander is almost the furthest thing from what the Flyers need. Could be an opportunity for Holmgren to take advantage of Dubas' need to move Nylander because they can't sign him, and move him for a young d-man?

He's a consistent 25-35 goal scorer in the NHL, he's not terrible.

Just my opinion here but I think with the right coach in place, I believe JVR can and will be a consistent goal scorer like he was in Toronto. Babcock got the most out of him and his offensive scheme. I think a coach like a Joel Quenneville can do the same for JVR. And it doesn't help to keep reshuffling lines on a nightly basis. It's very difficult to build chemistry. I'm still thrilled to have BUT on this team and I'll happily eat crow if he doesn't pan out. Gotta give him more than 8 games though. Let us get a coach that can play to our rosters strength. That's where we need to start. We all have one common goal here and that's to win. Homer is in the process of trying to make that happen.

agree 10000%
The problem with this coach is he isnt changing the lines.

Sure the top line is scoring but the rest of the lineup needs a shakeup.

I would put G and Vorachek back together to try and get Jake going

He doesn't do anything to warrant any of his goals and he has been on the team for 24 games hes only played 8 because hes a big puss. He is nothing more than a third line winger.

Leafs are just hoping for another JVR/Schenn heist while Holmgren is back in. :L

That's fine, whatever, but for Christ's sake please stop saying it every other fucking post.

Lol. Didn't think of it like that. That'd be shrewd on Dubas' part!

Shouldn't you be on the Blackhawks board instead of coming here once a month trying to troll me.

Yep and I would def put Simmonds and Amac Gudas or somebody else for him.

I don't think that would get it done. I would think the Leafs would be looking for Provy or Ghost, maybe Sanheim + something else significant. Definitely a top 4 dman or at least one with top 4 potential. Simmonds as a UFA probably won't have much value until closer to the trade deadline.
