I still can’t fathom how this is going to be a good hire. But to each their own.
Ehh what does Kansas have to lose? At least they get some hype from this

Croots will still recognize his name

Not sure it can get any worse than it already is there. Les still has some cache'. Should be able to recruit better athletes than Bailey. Should be able to line up some decent assistants. Maybe he will actually hire a coordinator that knows how to run an offense.
Maybe their goal is get Les to lure in some recruits, show it can be done, and bring in a bigger fish later. Again doubt it works but still.

Had to laugh at the whole bring in an offensive coordinator comment. Dude is as stubborn as a mule. Don’t expect offense.

Yea, I really did love Les as a person, just so damn stubborn. Wishing for the best, expecting the worst. Nothing to lose for Kansas or Les.

He's a big name for Kansas.

Kansas knows Snyder is about finished at K-State. They
just went out and got a bigger name than K-St will be able
to do.

The growth process will be long and difficult but it must start
with Kansas being the top dog in their state. I think they just
accomplished that.

Florida says:nono:

Does Dan Mullen have a national championship? How about Mike White?

We're talking current coaches. Les Miles (2007) and Bill Self (2008) both have national championships under their belts. Thus making Kansas the only school in the Big 12 with a coach who has a basketball and football championship.. maybe in the entire NCAA to be honest but I'm too lazy to look

Interesting that they have two true freshmen former 4* kids from Louisiana and now they possibly upped that pipeline with this hire. Not saying they're going to become good, but I actually think this was their best case scenario.

This move just doesn't make sense to me. There's been some old coaches in CFB....but I just can't imagine that Miles is up for a total rebuild at this point. The only positive is that if this does end up working, I doubt Miles bolts for another team at this point in his life.

Both of them left the state due to grades, or at least that is my information. Pooka is one hell of an athlete though.

Miles gonna coach at KU for $50,000 like Bo Pelini did at YSU- only 3 more monthly checks to Pelini and Nebraska is done BTW. Riley and Eichorst are now paid in full
Let me be sure I understand this correctly.

Les Miles was willing to accept a reduced amount of money from LSU to continue not working there in exchange for working to receive a paycheck from Kansas?

If true, he needs to be enrolled in the University of Kansas School of Business instead of coaching the football team.

My favorite was this narrative that Les only didn’t get a job because he had to pretend to do so in order to collect his checks from LSU... guess this puts that to bed.
