It could kinda be like what South Carolina did with Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier, to build the program.

Mangino has that program in decent shape. It wasn’t good enough for them so they turned back into Kansas.

Mangino was in Kansas City, Mo recruiting one time. The recruit lived a couple miles off of the I-435 bypass. When Mangino left his visit he got lost in KC. He saw some dude on the side of the street, stopped, rolled down his window, and asked "How do I get back to 435?". The man replied "Stop eating".

Got to love old Big 12 jokes.

What about Miles returning to Okla State?

He was 2-2 vs The Sooners.

Miles to Colorado makes a lot more sense to me.

He got his true coaching chops at Colorado under McCartney in the early to mid-80s when they were re-building that program.

His style, presence, and humor would definitely fit in Boulder. Kansas is an absolute graveyard for coaches. Why end your career there?
