Schools have put years into building this sport, even the ones that suck all the time.

Exactly, this sport was built on teh backs of blue blood programs and even a couple who are no longer part of the major discussion, but for the most part some major teams put in some serious time dominating and making CFB into what it is today. Kids liek this pretending to be CU fans who clearly are just some alternate G5 team fan isnt foolin anybody

They spent hundreds of thousands of dollars just paying their coaches their bonuses in contracts for "winning a national championship" and all kinds of other cash spent on it.

So what was the payoff exactly? Because as far as I can tell it ranks up there with Oregons uniforms and Boise St's blue field - not shit.

The constant media blitz has brought unprecedented attention to the program. They're without a doubt getting more selling points to recruits. You knock off Auburn on National Television and you don't have to settle for 3-star recruits-at-best.

Now you can be annoyed by it, that's fine, but that doesn't mean the school isn't taking in money on merch. All programs are built from success. UCF is finding a lot of success and they're rapidly growing.

Fact: UCF's stadium is larger than that of a dozen P5 teams.
