Denard Robinson, Jeff Demps, Zach Brown and Damiere Byrd are all track athletes, there is no way to know who the fastest college football player is.
MTSU's RB Reggie Whatley, registered a 40-time of 4.31 at an Atlanta recruiting combine and CB Kenneth Gilstrap ran a 10.31 in the 100 meter. Not saying they are the fastest players in college, but some of the smaller schools have some fast players that you just don't hear about.
De'Anthony Thomas has been playing since week 1.
"Run away from the cops" speed?
Theres a difference between track speed and football speed as anyone would tell you. That said i cant imagine anyone being faster than Demps. That highlight from Saturday where he completely outran the 2 DB's that had great angles on him was nuts.
That's why Miami faded away. They traded "run away from the cops" speed for a "pay off the cops" defense instead.
