I just think its a stretch to make the connection that the Lakers won those 2 games since Ball started and lost the 3 games that Rondo started becuase of those guys is looking at a very small piece of a bigger picture.

Didn't make that connection. Just pointed out the fact that their 2 wins came with Lonzo starting when someone else said they couldn't win with him starting.

Do you think there is an actual correlation between the two? that the Lakers won those 2 games because Ball started and lost their 3 games because Rondo started?

Never said that there was. Simply stated a fact. Never said Lonzo starting was the reason.

They are still figuring everything out. Any wins at this point in the season are about having Lebron.

Yeah, that's actually been the better part of the defense too. Minny just went crazy from 3. I think they hit 8 in the 4th quarter.

I think we all knew that was going to be an issue. 17 offensive boards is great, but not when you give up 20. :L
you dont want to ask LeBron to do it all either. Having him be the leading scorer by a big time margin, and the leading rebounder is asking a lot of a guy that is going to be 34 in a month.

There was a season in Cleveland where Love led the team in rebounding and Kyrie led the team in points. At least the creating duties are a little more spread out in LA- but they are putting an awful lot on LeBron.

At some point LeBron if things dont improve we are going to see LeBron have to give max effort in games in November and December in order to get the record to a good place- and after watching him coast the last few regular seasons in Cleveland nad have a full tank for the playoffs- i think the last thing you want is LeBron going Full-Go before the turn of the year.

Yeah its too early to make any assumptions. Now if they're still shooting this good 30 games in then that's a different story.

7 games in is nothing

Exactly. Klay was shooting 13% from 3 before last night.

Some Lakers are shooting the 3 worse than expected and a couple are shooting it better than expected. They'll all likely end up closer to their norm as the season moves on.

If they can rank between 15 and 20 on 3's...that will be a nice improvement over the past couple of years, imo.

FTR even though it is only 7 games in, you realize the Lakers are ranked 24th in 3 pt %?

Idk about you but I wouldn't be on here on Wiggy's case because the Lakers are 24th in 3 pt % which is pretty freaking bad

They are getting better. The first game they were 7 of 30.

16-42=38%
14-39=36%
10-28=36%
10-29=34%
13-33=39%
12-33=36%

The 7 of 30 was the only clunker so far. It may be early but it looks like they'll be fine on 3's.

Take away the first game and they are making around 36%.

Yep I'm sure Lebron will get better. Ingram, Kuzma, and Hart can all shoot it as well.

Just wouldn't be on here screaming that Wiggy is wrong when the Lakers are currently shooting 33% from 3 and 24th in basketball. 30-35 games and they're at 35 or 36% and top 15 then I'm ok with doing that

LOL there is a reason it called an average. You can't pick and choose the games you want to exclude

Agree. I don't mind them leaning on him early in the season because they are trying to figure things out and need to win a few games to keep from digging too deep a hole.

But, this is not sustainable, imo. Lebron is a ridiculous athletic freak and probably takes better care of his body than any player in history. But I'm at least 80% sure that he's still human.

Hopefully, as they get everyone on the same page, Lebron will be required to do less as the season goes on.

I'd love for them to get to the point that Lebron can sit out a game here or there. The nice thing about the Suns game was that Lebron was able to sit out the entire 4th quarter.

I mean they are 24th in the league in %....i just dont even know what DJ is talking about to be honest. Why would anyone think that is good? besides him i guess.

To be fair, weren't they 30th the last 2 seasons?

Comparatively speaking...24th counts as "this good". lol

Yep. Jimmy Butler hit 5 contested 3s in the 4th quarter.

Lakers defense is an issue but the last two late game loses came down to Derozan and Butler hitting crazy shots against great individual defense.

Yeah, Jimmy was ridiculous last night and the "Pop effect" seems to be working on DeRozan.

The Bucks beat the Raptors without the Greek Freak in the lineup. They look legit.

i dunno dude

you lost by a combined 8 points the last 2 games- and hte last 2 games Ball has been awful.

that and one of the wins was against hte Suns- who it wouldnt of mattered if Rondo was playing PG, Ball, or if I was playing PG- the Lakers were winning that game.

Rondo came back and took away some of Ball's momentum possibly? Luke needs to get these rotations locked down soon.
