Yep, Don't agree with the wake up concept though. You are a pro athlete, you trained all off season to be ready for the season and your not! Too many of these millionaires get a pass on slow start, not scoring etc! If you were paying me millions of dollars to play a sport I would look like Coots in game 6 last year, every game, to many nights off with this club. Somebody needs to tell them they aren't as good as the media makes them out to be,
Another slow start is the MO of this team. We put ourselves in an early hole and use the rest of the season to dig out.

Our PK looked fantastic the other day if we could only play the 30th worst PP in the league every game we could solve that problem.

We need to beat a win less Panther team tomorrow.

Has anyone found out yet what type of upper body injury Patrick has?

I have to assume concussion or concussion caution after that stick chop to the face, 7-10 sounds about right for that type of protocal. Just my opinion though.

If you're right that's his 2nd in two years. Not good.

Finally watched the tape on the last game. Good effort, but Fleury is just too fucking lucky. Again, it's crushing to lose so late in regulation and just choke points away. I like the defense overall, but the pairing of Hagg/MacDonald got victimized several times late, the final time for the lone goal against.

G should've had 2-3 goals in this one and he gets blanked...Lol

Konecny still snakebit too.

Provy is showing flashes of his brilliance, but still uncharacteristically makes a bad play here and there. He has yet to put up a point, somehow. For a guy who had 17 goals and 41 points last season, it is definitely concerning. His -3 is not the usual either.

Let's hope we have enough forwards to dress for the next game, because they seem to be getting injured left and right.

I feel a bit lucky that I only threw a few bits of furniture around in frustration at the 1-0 loss. I am not in town so I can safely say something and claim I was hacked... :heh:

This team is not THAT good. It is young and better than it was 4 years ago. They are better prepared than they were under Berube. BUT The insistence on stifling open ice creativity and puck carrying in order to re-inforce the "system" has got to stop. It is at the point that the GM should be stepping in and laying down the law.

Ghost, G, Voracek, TK etc are way to creative and talented to look as bad as they have. This is down to playing a system and is not open to creativity. In college it can take up to six years to install a system in college and they buy in. This is the NHL.

Okay...back to being a computer geek

Its time for Haks to go. But well see if Hexy keeps him around to save some face because this was his pick.

I think it's time to move on to a new coach, every year we have some kind of adversity to start our season. and then things get better, then they go back to some other adversity. I don't see championship teams constantly battling through all the little shit this team does. I don't think this team believes in Hakstol or his systems and it shows on the ice. If Weal is the best replacement we have to call up, well then I guess our talent pool isn't as deep as we thought. I think it's early enough we would be okay with a coaching change right now, Somethings gotta happen soon, I don't see this team making any big splashes this year, we did nothing in the off season to improve(JVR is not an improvement) to put us on another level, we are essentially the same team we were last year.

You're killin me with this man. He's not an improvement on the PK or goaltending. He's not the improvement you wanted. But he absolutely is an improvement. Over the past 6 years he would've been the 2nd most offensively productive Flyer year in and year out.

Of course, I agree with you guys on Hak. I don't think he's taking them anywhere.

Was OK with the Vegas loss though. I'd almost rather lose a 1-0 game, but play 'the right way' than to win another 7-4 game where you just out gunned a very poor Ottawa team. Fleury stole one, it happens.

I'm gonna wait for his overall performance this time around, my main concern is lack of effort under Haks.

You always mention the offense but you fail to mention he was minus 47 in those 6 years.

Either way he isn't going to be a game changer. This team has a lot more issues than JVR. I think we all feel we left a little on the tables this off season. I just hope we aren't on the outside looking in midway through the season.

Effort under Hak as a broad issue or specifically to JvR? He's only played 19 minutes under Hak so far, so probably a little early to be concerned about that.

Lets start tonight with a nice 5-3 win at home and have the start of a 10 game win streak going.
