Do I have to list them all?
Defense and running backs(but O-line isn't great at run blocking).
Running backs are fine. Fix the OL and the backs will look good like usual.
There's not enough paper here to list them in proper order.
It's going to be rough this year and maybe even next year but IMO if y'all stick with Taggart it's going to pay off.
Most posters on here look at the record this year and bash Taggart but those of us who follow FSU because we play FSU every year has seen this trainwreck coming for a while. After the NC in Winston's first year something happened and y'all stopped developing players....especially on both lines and at QB. Between that and the amount of attrition y'all had the past two season were inevitable. As I've said before....the past three seasons of Last Chance U have featured a different highly ranked FSU QB who ended up at JUCO. I don't care who you are, that kind of attrition catches up to you in the end.
We saw it coming also. That's why nobody was really upset with
Fisher leaving. But what we've gotten in return is worst.
He'll get another year, but he's gonna be forced to dump the OC
and possibly the DC, this season.
I understand the problems with the OL. We've always been lucky
there, because Trickett couldn't develop more than five at a time.
This year we lost our starting right tackle 4 weeks before the
season began when he was kicked out of school. By the end of the
1st quarter of the VPI game we had lost our starting left tackle and
starting left guard to injury. Now we've gotten both of those guys
back, so it has improved in the Louisville and Miami games. Miami
got to our QB off the right side.
Our LB's have been undersized for three years now and that has to
improve. Our DL is fine. DB's get confused with new coverage
but when they're left alone, they're ok.
Play-calling is pathetic. QB play is pitiful. And that is compounded
by the fact that many people believe he lost our best QB. Many
say that Bailey Hockman should have been the starter. He was
a leap year ahead of Blackman in the Spring game and he redshirted in 2017. Those close said he had the better fall camp
than Francois and when he was put at #3 on the depth chart
he bolted. And nobody blames him.
He walked into a school with the 4th most elite talent in CFB.
62 4 or 5-star players and we struggle to block and/or tackle.
His coaching staff is a gigantic drop-off from what we've had
and it ain't gonna be tolerated. Our boosters pay all of our
scholarships except for the 50 or so that are endowed. They
are already threatening pulling money from the program. They
are not going to pay for this kinda piss poor development. His final
6 need to be much better than the first 6 or the Admin will make the changes.
We're paying MS monthly installments of $24,917 until Jan. 31, 2020
Lack of melaninOur only flaw is - we have no flaws.
The biggest weakness got fired and frankly it was worth the loss to Texas to make that happen (giving up that many points to an anemic Texas offense was embarrassing).
With the above said, the defense is still young and is missing that edge rush they have had with Obo and Striker. As a young D they tend to over pursue and leave their assignments.
O line aside, the run game just does not have the punch it had with Anderson in the backfield.
