One thing Trump's been dead on about is rate hikes. The market needed time for new housing starts and other big-ticket purchases to ramp up to a growth level that approached pre-recession levels. Housing starts are already leveling off, car sales are slumping, and on top of it all shit with China means solving NAFTA didn't do much to erase trade fears.

BoC should take a note and stop hiking ours, too. That combined with Trudeau's corporate tax cuts next year should work to keep the economy here pretty competitive.

Flip side, I think we're near some very attractive entry points for Amazon/Alphabet/Netflix etc.
