So I've been saying since the media started calling Vick an elite QB that it isn't going to last. He's in the best situation possible (under Reid), and he had a great season last year; but it never lasts with this guy. He never had the body to put up with the punishment his style of play requires IMO.

Defenses figured out how to defend Vick late last year. This year they've been ready for him, and he's done what he's always done. He fumbled 4 times so far this season (lost 2 of 'em I think; can't remember if it was 2 or 3), and he got injured.

Vick is the definition of a streaky player. He has obscene highs & really low lows. In the long run that doesn't amount to an elite QB.

I said the same thing about McNabb (more Reid) He one a great year too, but overall his play was far worse than his accolades depict. In fact his career numbers were below the average QB play of his era. And he was garbage in Washington without Reid. Rex friggn' Grossman is doing better than he did.

Vick's OL has been terrible this year and the last (PFF)

Ranking just 23rd in pass blocking while the Niners sat just behind them at 24th. Difference probably just being Smith being a sitting duck and Vick actually turning some of those could be sacks into positive yards.

Of all the QBs in the NFL Michael Vick isn't one who can blame anything on his surrounding talent.

He has speed receivers, terrible OL, and a system RB(Dion Lewis is a better option than McCoy IMO).

You're seriously arguing Vick lacks surrounding talent? And THAT is your definition of terrible? Then what was Romo's OL last year & the first 2 games? The worst in the history of the NFL?

His receiving core is upper echelon, but everything else I can shrug my should at

EDIT: I don't know about last year for Romo(he only played in 6 games), but the past two weeks the front sevens that the Cowboys had to face were pretty stout IMO.

Fair enough. He has nothing about which to complain overall. Most QBs would take the eagles' offense in a second.

Vick took a majority of his hits last night while in the pocket. Chris Collinsworth was talking about how the Eagles staff want Vick to scramble less and he was taking more punishment last night because of it. I agree that his thin body makes him a little more susceptible to injuries though.

Vick has the worst OL, just a week ago he played great and had a 100 yards rushing, he was having a good game last night until his own team mate knocked him out of the game because he was staying in the pocket...Vick is the most talented QB in the league to say otherwise shows your lack of football knowledge

his head got smacked last night against a lineman. i dont think its being injury prone anymore than its his style of play. but the recent injury was more a freak accident

Is every meritless arguement you make followed with: if you disagree you don't know football?

Vick is the most talented QB in the NFL? Wrong. That would be Tom Brady.

As far as his injury being a freak accident it may very well have been. But Vick is simply a small QB who can't take NFL caliber punishment over the long term. That's why he's only had 1 full season in his entire career. It's also why he has like 69 fumbles in 90-something games; he's not very strong.

Vick is an amazing QB for short stretches. That doesn't get it done in the long run.

Laugh My Mother Fucking Ass Off. That has to be the funniest (and stupidest) post I've read since I've been here(and that includes the pro Obama threads). Anyone with a grain of football knowledge knows he isn't.

Vick isn't even the most talented QB on the injured list. That would be Peyton Manning.

These are the icons that I feel should be used when somebody claims Vick is the best QB in the league.  :blah: Is there one called moron?

I think they're really the same kind of player, which is probably why Reid drafted both of them in the first place. By same kind of player, I mean, both can catch the ball out of the backfield, can accelerate, change direction well, and they have a good vision for the field. Lewis is just more agile and I believe had a more impressive two years at Pittsburgh than McCoy.

Allow me to chime in.

Vick has always been among the most sacked QBs in the game. The notion that he avoids sacks due to his agility is false. The QBs who have been sacked the most over the last 10 or so years have been McNabb and Vick. Culpepper was up there as well. Mobile QBs get sacked a lot because they can make plays with their feet so they hold onto the ball longer.

Vick is not the best QB in the league. He's the best athlete at QB in the league. Maybe. Newton might outdo him there now.

Vick has elite physical talent and his speed keeps him ahead of Newton at this point. His mental game needs improvement, if he improves on countering the blitz then he's at his peak. His line is and has been very poor, to say other wise means you haven't paid attention.

By "talented" did you mean "fastest?" The guy can make plays...he throws a tight spiral and has a rocket arm but he is not the best by any stretch.... here are guys who are more talented at the QB position in no order.... Brady, Manning, Brees, Rivers, Rodgers. Then the guys who are at the same level as him... Shaub, Big Ben, Eli Manning.

Vick also has a pretty good tight end and McCoy is a perfect fit for that offense. But apparently since I say otherwise about Vick... take what I say with a grain of salt because I have no football knowledge. Aside from playing the game for 18 years.
