i mean- it sucks getting rid of Mack- but to get 2 first rounders for him and to not have to devote so much cap space to a defensive player is a win.

Gruden can build his own team now.

And the Bears are certainly nothing special- those picks could be around top 10.
The Bears had a good defense before adding Mack....they are going to be really good now.

But....Trubisky needs hellp on offense. They are sorry....

I was pissed, but we got two 1st rounders and a 3rd.

Then making me happy.....we traded a 5th rounder and upgraded our backup QB spot wjth AJ McCarron....insurance in case Carr gets hurt.

EJ Manuel can hit the fucking road.
But, we did give up a 2nd rounder.....ugh.

A lot of people are ripping Gruden for this.....stupid if you ask me.

It's foolish to pay Carr AND Mack crazy momey.....they have to finagle the salary cap and signing other players.....

Gruden still knows x's and o's.....he watched tons of film and broke it down in his gig with ESPN.

yah they stretched him. I think they realized they were never going to find a taker- so decided to keep him at his full salary this year and stretch his remaining year over 3 years.
Not quite - They are paying him for this year, He is taking a 7.2 million cut on the 19-20 season which leave 11 million to be stretched. 5.75 million for two years to be paid - that means they are dropping 13 million and that's how they are getting from 25 million under the cap to 38 - It was a brilliant stroke by Magic Johnson. I would be now that many fans wished the Lakers had kept Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss

dude you cant renogitate what the cap hit is

let me explain-

before today he was owed 36m over 2 years....

No matter WHAT- that 36M goes against the cap somehow.

He can agree to only take 30M or whatever- but whatever you negotiate does not, cannot, will not, and will never, change what the cap hit is.

I mean- its not a good look trading away a top 5 defensive player in the league--- but wehn you look at both the cpa hit and the 2 first rounders its at least a reasonable deal and will let Gruden put together the team he wants.

Obviously it weakens them this year- and players are not going to be exactly thrilled.....but it is what it is.

I think considering the situation he did about as well as he could.

I didn't say that - per Lakersnation.com - The Lakers are going to pay Deng for this season, but when this season ends, the second year is being bought out at a discount of 7.2 million dollars less - The remaining 11 million owed for 2019-2020 season will be stretched and that gives the Lakers an additional 13 million more under the cap.

I will restate what I said - Lakersnation.com is saying different - They are saying the buyout reduces that 36 million to 29, but the dude will still get paid the 18 this year. So if you're saying the Lakers can't do that - Take it up with Hoops Hype, Lakersnation.com and ESPN because they are saying different

Sources: Lakers benefit from Deng $7.5M buyout

Lakers Rumors: With Money Luol Deng Gave Back In Buyout, Team Has More Than $38 Million In Salary Cap Space For 2019 NBA Free Agency - Lakers Nation

I think these guys knows more then you do - but perhaps that's just me

Well, we don't have Mack......

What abt a Raiders/Browns bet now?

Who wins more games? Small potatoes because I'm depressed about Mack and we'll probably win 4-5 games.

Yeah, this wasn't like Aaron Donald and the Rams. Pretty much everyone knew that the Rams were going to pay him, it was more an excuse to let him skip the pre-season.

With the Raiders, everyone knew that this was going to drag out into the season. There's also not only the point of paying both him and Carr, but there have even been questions about whether or not the Raiders have the money to pay him.

Agree with Wiggy, all things considered, the Raiders actually did pretty well. Especially if 1 or both of those first rounders turns into something down the road.

But, we got AJ as insurance for Carr.....happy about that.

We are going to try and outscore teams in year 1 of Gruden.

Yeah what's up w/ that? I don't know all the details. Did Mack have some kinda issue w/ the organization before he became a Bear?
