So there is a new Star Trek series in development, and it appears to be centered on Picard. I would assume it will be a CBS show, but I haven’t seen any confirmation of that. I can’t imagine it going anywhere else (even though ST has history with both NBC and the CW). I also assume it will be on their streaming service. Stewart is, of course, reprising the role.

But what is the show? Will it be a drama centered on a retired military man? That sounds like a movie, or limited series, not an actual series. And how will the destruction of Vulcan change the timeline in this show? Will this be the same Picard, or an alternate one? Will Picard actually be a central character/theme, or will he just make a cameo to launch the show?

I'm surprised Stewart would come back to this. Thought he said something to the effect of...if he knew Next Generation would go on for as long as it did, he would never have done it.

I read that it was going to be on CBS All Access, just like Discovery.

and I also read that it was actually going to be centered on Picard, and it would be the same character, but a lot will have happened to him in the 20+ years since TNG ended.

I don't have the articles that I read at hand, but I can probably resurrect them if you would like.

I think I remember that too. Glad he has gotten over it. I wont pay to see it though. I will wait till it is out on the internet. Not paying money when TV already has ads.

If you pay for CBS AllAccess, do the shows still have commercial breaks? Netflix and Hulu do not.

I was under that impression there was some kind of commercials. The site says limited commercials. I dont believe them. people are complaining. They are saying there are more than limited and it is the same ones over and over. Apparently to CBS limited means in number not how many times you watch them.

CBS all access has two price points, one for with commercials, one for without.

Its something like $7 and $11 per month respectively

Do they offer their entire library, or only a portion. No way would I pay 11 bucks for an abbreviated library of antiquated product.

I missed the original showing, so I'm watching the encore of the season premiere of Better Call Saul right now. I'll post the library of what's available on CBS all access later tonight. I don't know if it's their entire library, but its substantial

And... ninjaed

Oh well, Hooray Patrick Stewart! Although, I think it might be cooler to see him in a x-men tv series. probably just would cost too much make a good one though.

Two former 'nerdy' contestants from CBS' Survivor (John Cochran and David Wright) are currently working as writers for CBS' Star Trek series.

2 'Survivor' Contestants are Writing on CBS All Access 'Star Trek' Series

Picard
Kirk
Janeway
Archer
Sisko

I haven’t seen Discovery, so I can’t rate Lorca (he is the captain?)
*Sort of, … explaining would be a spoiler, and the show is a lot better after the first episode.
Kirk
Picard
Janeway
Lorca*
Archer
Matt Decker
Commodore Stocker
Crewman Green
Sisko

Kirk is by far better, he never needed a committee huddle to decide what to do.
