Trump basically performs fellatio on Putin in Helsinki today.
Big deal. The WTO wields no powerThat's quite the argument (notice I'm not saying it's a good argument):
The argument from the Trump administration, announced Monday, is that Trump’s tariffs are legal but the retaliation is not.
“The actions taken by the president are wholly legitimate and fully justified as a matter of U.S. law and international trade rules. Instead of working with us to address a common problem, some of our trading partners have elected to respond with retaliatory tariffs designed to punish American workers, farmers and companies. These tariffs appear to breach each WTO Member’s commitments under the WTO Agreement,” U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said in a statement.
US and Russian relations are supposedly at their worst EVER right now.
I wasn't around for it, but I still feel pretty confident in saying our relations were a little worse at other times. Like, I don't know, the Cuban Missile Crisis? Or maybe the Berlin Blockade? Or the period surrounding the(ir) invasion of Afghanistan?
I like to tell all my saddest personal stories anonymously when I tell them on their internet, so you won't see this one on the Facebook or the Twitter. Buckle up. It's short and also not at all compelling.
I got a text from a friend asking if I wanted to go to a brewery with them. Obviously I did, as beer is my only remaining joy, so I said yes and then actually showered and dressed as an adult. Then my friend cancelled, but I'd already put more effort into dressing myself than anything not omelette related I'd done all day (I made an omelette for breakfast, like I do every morning. Six eggs. I'm not messing around), so I headed out on my own. Now I don't know what to do, so I'm drinking a beer alone in a bar with music way too loud for my old taste, posting this story to the Hoop.
Yinz are so lucky to have me.
*Apologies for typos. I'm bad at this on my phone. And I'm not proofreading my own sad story.

The continued support of Trump in the face of today's press conference is baffling. A self-proclaimed patriot threw US servicemembers under the bus and deferred to a hostile foreign dictator. It's already taken unreasonable cognitive dissonance to overlook his hypocrisy and incompetence, and this just escalated the need for it beyond comprehension, and yet, here we are.
