that defense though....

You have a defense of RW, Roberson, George, Noel and Adams.....thats about as athletic and feisty and rugged as you can get.......

but yah---

I almost thought that Klutch would get Noel to LA for a "make good" contract for 1 year...kind of surprised (And glad) that didnt happen.

I was kind of hoping the Warriors took a flier on him too, but looks like they're going to wait until most teams use up their cap and then go after the biggest names who are left to fill out the roster.

Warriors also said to be thinking about carrying only 14 players on their roster and utilizing more of the 2 way contracts to limit luxury tax payments.

If the Warriors use their MLE of 5.3M it's something like the equivalent to 22-24M in overall value including luxury tax.

Was GS not interested in McGee anymore?

Why would he sign with the Lakers? I don't get it.

Warriors likely didn't offer him a contract, I would think. Or maybe worse to him is that they told him, he'd have to wait until they saw what else was on the market first. Him signing early on indicates probably the latter, imo.

The Warriors (particularly Ron Adams) said they're high on Damian Jones as a key piece next year. They think he can step in and do what Javale did on a given night. Give them 15 minutes of hustle, rim running and blocking shots.

if Durant goes from 25M to 35M, that 10M equals what? 40-50M in actual expenditures?

why i think that the Warriors have 2 years together MAX unless Durant, Klay, and Draymond all take well under what they are able to.

Yeah, at this point I think they're in the repeater, so it's a multiplier effect. But at some point it caps out I think.

The Warriors CAN pay them and they can AFFORD to pay them...but if they're willing to, will make all the difference.

KD could have signed a max this year but opted for another 1 and 1. This actually saved the Warriors a lot of money in the tax this year alone. But there's another ramification here that no one is considering. People have mentioned that next year the team will have his full bird rights so he can sign his supermax valued contract. But on the flip side, him taking another 1 and 1, aligns himself with Klay's free agency too. You've got to think that's going to factor in here too.

If Klay decides he might take a slight pay cut, you may see Durant doing something a bit similiar too. That's just my opinion, nothing's been said on it. But basically if Klay decides he wants a huge deal and the Warriors are not gonna give it to him, Klay can bolt and then KD can sign for his super max. That way the Warriors would be guaranteeing that they would have to keep Draymond as their third player.

Lots of factors here. There are ways for the Warriors to retain their core, but it's certainly tricky and will mostly depend on what Draymond, KD and Klay are willing to do in terms of their salary. From my POV, I would never hate on an athlete getting every dollar they've earned.

Noel will be a sold back up to Adams and allow Patrick Patterson to go back to his natural 4 spot.
