I watched a lot of his college games and have seen every one of his NFL games.

Does he have a Jeff George arm? No, but few do. Is he the most accurate deep ball thrower? No. Can he throw a deep accurate pass? Yes. His game is the shorter, more precise throws. That's why Dez sucked with Dak, because Dez was hardly ever where he was supposed to be. I'll take a smaller, less physical precise route runner over a big physical jump ball WR like Dez any day.

What I don't get is why previously drafted WRs in the 3rd round have anything to do with Gallup or the Cowboys this year. Every situation is different and every player is different. If he was drafted in 2017 he'd have no shot whatsoever to put up the numbers that are being mentioned. But this year is a different situation. IMO there is still little chance that he puts up those numbers but as I said previously 6 or 7 pages back that does not in any way mean he did or didn't have a better year than Dez had in 2017 or that he didn't "replace 2017 Dez". Dez needed 133 passes thrown his way to put up those numbers and there is no chance Gallup will be in the top 10 in targets in 2018 unless he is flat out incredible. Further, there were many plays where Dak wanted to go to Dez but the fact that he could not get open or that he wasn't where he was supposed to be (including every hot read ever) pretty much killed the play, so add that on top of the 133 targets.

All that being said if I were to bet on who has better numbers in 2018 (assuming Dez is signed to a good situation for him) I would guess Dez probably puts up better stats in 2018. But, one of the reasons for that is because of being cut and how it will hopefully motivate him to change his ways, focus and be realistic about himself. If none of this happened, he was going to suck again. But, he is a very talented player and (not to write the book on Gallup before we even see him) probably much more talented than Gallup. Hopefully he finds a way to flip the switch and can be good again, but I'm happy it won't be in Dallas for 2018 and especially that his contract will soon be off the books
