I'm not closing the book on him, I have just seen nothing to indicate he can lead that team. This year should tell the story.

Fair enough.

How much can you bank on the new coaching staff to actually do that? KNJ got ran out of town in Oakland because they had one of the worst defenses in football. Why does he come to Seattle and all of a sudden become a good DC?

Sometimes, just like players, coaches need a change of scenery to do their job better than they did at their previous stop.

Right that does happen sometimes. I just think you are leaping to a lot of conclusions based much more on your hope than on anything that is proven about this Seahawks team.

No I'm not doing that at all. I know our team won't be as good as in year's past. I've come to grips with that.

The odds of them coming close to that group of players you listed is slim to none. You are talking about 3 All-Pro players and some Pro Bowl players all in one draft. That kind of draft happens once every 5-10 years for a team if that. And you are not just talking about them hitting but hitting as the top players at their respective positions kind of hit.
My point wasnt to say that I think Shaq Griffin is going to be as good as Richard Sherman or that Tedric Thompson is the next Earl Thomas. My point is that right now, much like in 2011/12, we have lots of young, unknown players who may be able to help get this team right back to where it was a few years ago when paired with a top 5 QB and a much-improved running game. They don't have to be HOF level players for that. Too many people are just writing off Seattle because name players are gone.

Heh.

Big group SportsHoopla hug for NWP everybody. He needs some attention.
yes because my Red Sox are doing well, Celts are kicking ass minus their two stars being out and NE posed for another playoff run. Save the hugs you may be needing them soon enough.

Much-improved running game? Just like Rawls, Prosise, Carson, McKisic... let's just say we've been hearing how Seattle has found their answer to the loss of Lynch for a few years now.

I'm on record I wanted NE to draft Prosise. Can Penny be the answer? He could but the odds don't lend me to believe it. They at least have a blocking TE not that could help?

We had Luke Willson for awhile until he left in free agency.

Luke was a decent blocker he just appeared very good because Graham couldn't block me.

Well, I didnt say anything about Lynch. The truth is the running game was fantastic in 2015 with Rawls. Go check the numbers if your memory sucks or is selective. It's been bad the 2 seasons since, readily admitted. I don't think I've claimed before either season that something was fixed, though it's not like we thought there was something to fix going into 2016.

But yeah, there have been some pretty drastic changes since last year. I wouldnt expect you to think they'll work, but hand waiving them all off doesnt mean the team is doomed.

NWP's hands have NWP's feelings behind them though.

One of the areas Seattle fans I agree are a bit delusional about is coaching. I'll give you that.

We got Steve Sarkisian floated a bunch as a replacement candidate for Daryl, who shall now not be named, *e*v*ll

Pete has proven he can build a team in both the pros and the NCAA when given control. He has his vision and his main focus is improving the run game this year.
I like where the team is headed, not necessarily where it is. The team is in a better position going into `19 than it is this year.
If we can run, we will win more than we lose.

Seattle lost some key names to FA but I think they have a good shot to have a nice year despite a lot of folks thinking they may fall apart ..........I think they got a steal with Rasheem Green getting him in the 3rd RD..He was on my wish list for my Packers...I think he will come right in and provide a pass rush immediately.......Their D-backfield will be strong again this year without Richards.....I think that "D" can still get it done.......They still have a top 5 elite QB and I think they are the 2nd best team in that DIV...........Although it was risky taking that RB Penny in the 1st RD I understand the move - with Russell doing his thing they are capable of putting up a lot of points if they can have a big year running the ball...............Seattle still very capable IMO.......................

I made a futures wager that 49ers will win under 9 games this up coming season........Even if Jimmy G has a successful year I dont think their is enough pieces there especially on defense for them to win 10 games which would cost me my wager...........

With the Seahawks coaching staff and their QB we can never count them out.

All of the RBs started out well. Then they just fizzled out. Was it game tape? Was it the lack of O line? Even Christine Michael started out well. Point being is they were all hyped as much as Penny is being hyped. Not sure I would call 800 yards by Rawls fantastic even if you combine them with the 500 by RW. Sorry I don't want my QB running for 500 a year.

I've mentioned multiple times this is only May and lots can and will happen by Jan. That's why most comments I paraphrase with words like on paper or currently. It's not as I'm on an island with thinking Seattle is an 8-8 type team.
