I never said they would be awful. I said they needed to rebuild. Their division is getting much tougher, they are losing key players, and they don’t have draft stock to bring in superstar players without catching a break or two. I never said that Seattle was in a unique position, much less a super unique position. The packers ARE in the same position, minus being in a tough division. Even though I think the Bears are going to be good soon, the Packers haven’t had to compete against any good teams in the division except the Vikings for a year or two. And the Packers haven’t been serious contenders since they won a title. People see Rodgers and they think contender, but the Packers haven’t been to a super bowl since, and they have suffered a bunch of early playoff exits.

The Seahawks are going to go through what the packers went through, only none of the teams in the nfc west are pathetic like the bears or lions were the last 7 or 8 years.

On a side note, I went to the Seahawks board to just read the posts, and you guys are a fan base who will find something positive with every move made. The Seahawks could trade Russell Wilson for a bag of peanuts and you guys would be saying things like “Well, we get a lot more energy on defense if we feed those peanuts to the DLine. Great trade!” There’s really no debate if you fail to acknowledge your teams weaknesses. I have been pretty spot on with the Seahawks since their title. But all good things must come to an end, and this elite Seahawks defense is coming to an end.

Remember when Aaron Rodgers was so scared of throwing to Sherman’s side that he avoided his side of the field the entire game? That was an elite defense. That level of “eliteness” is long gone. Without that, the Seahawks are just your run of the mill passing team with a good qb.

We will just have to wait and see what Seahawks do this year. What divisions do they play? Want to place an avi bet?

I guess you didn't see the Blair Walsh/Eddy Lacy threads? Or the o-line threads? Or the Bevell/Cable threads?

Well permanently dense , so yeah about the same thing.

Yup I agree. I find this criticism from a Bear fan kind of funny. Think NFC West teams are in so much better shape going forward then the Bears and their hopes on their QB who so far seems pathetic.

Bears schedule looks tough with a lot of good D's they have to face. Turbs could have a long season ahead of him.

I don’t understand anybody buying into the Trubisky hype. He has done nothing at all to prove he’s an NFL worthy quarterback.

He was a rookie so I'll give him that, but by the end of his third year if that needle hasn't trended upward then the Bears are screwed.

Could say that about a lot of rookie QB's that eventually panned out. Jared Goff is a great recent example of a terrible rookie year and everybody thought he was a bust then boom has a great 2nd year.

Trubisky last year had very few weapons to work with so I'm not willing to put all the struggles of that team on him by any means. They went out and got him some weapons this offseason so if he still can't produce then definitely some of the bust conversation can be talked about.

Oh I'm not saying the Seahawks will be a bottom-5 team in the NFL. I just know though if I was picking who would be making the playoffs right now I would have the Seahawks on the outside looking in. They will be competitive for sure but I see more of an 8-8 or 9-7 type season for them at this point. I'll be more than happy to eat crow if I'm wrong but I just see a lot of rosters especially in the NFC that have more all around talent.

Sure, got no problem with that prediction at all.

Absolutely not. We got rid of 2 players in Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett who were nothing but cancers in our locker room. We have a good thing going right now with the young secondary and our new offense. Given that we won't be below .500
Add Avril and Kam into those losses. Possibly ET? There are lots of holes and currently zero depth.

The "massive holes in the defense" is quite a stretch. Our back end is decent with Earl, McDougal, Griffin and Maxwell, LB's are still stop notch with KJ and Bobby, and the D-line is thin but still has playmakers up there with Clark and Dion Jordon. Seattle lost a lot of big names, but not necessarily big production.
I'd say the backend is pedestrian at best and that's assuming ET shows up and plays. McDougal and Griffin are meh and Maxwell is long in the tooth and a penalty machine.
Agreed Bobby Wags is awesome and KJ is a quality LB.
Dline which was a strength is now their weakness, yes lots of holes.

Seattle could have a bad year, but if they do it won't be because they "ignored" the OL, or "couldn't keep everyone like we predicted", or "got old." It will be because it's a challenge to bring in 2 new coordinators, a new OL coach, and new starters on both lines and get off to a good start and/or put that all together quick enough in the season to contend. But having the QB is a huge advantage, and there are some legit reasons to think they will be able to run the ball a lot better than the last couple seasons.

I think the team is close to the same place it was back in 2011 when guys like Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, Doug Baldwin, KJ Wright, and even Earl Thomas (top prospect but not proven) were nobodies. Now it's Shaq Griffin, Naz Jones, Jarran Reed, Tedric Thompson, Delano Hill, and Tre Flowers. A few of those guys hit like back in 2011/12, then this team will be good again and soon. Again, big advantage to this turnover is the team already has the QB.

Dallas is better than Seattle. And the home vs road makes no difference. Dallas is 6-2 on the road the last two years.
They only had 8 away games in two years:scratch:

I have a feeling Earl Thomas wants to stay in Seattle and help mentor the younger guys in our secondary. I'm hoping Kam comes back healthy but he's definitely a long shot to ever see the field again.

This is dumb Russell Wilson has had a pro bowl season every year since being in the league when was the last time a team with a pro bowl QB that finished the season all 16 games win only 4-5 games?

AT A MINIMUM the seahawks will win 8 games with Wilson under center nothing less. try and change my mind I dare you.

Lastly all our divisional opponents have the same "brutal" schedule as us so they are in just as much of an uphill climb
The difference is the other three teams get to play Seattle twice

I have a feeling ET is ready to move on. He may be in Seattle thru the 18 season but after that I'll bet dollars to doughnuts he's not in a Hawk uniform come 19. If ET doesn't hold out or even if he does and Sea struggles early I don't see ET risking injury. Seattle will be lucky if they see an 80% Thomas.

What point that does that prove if anything I can see us winning 10 games for sure
That means the other three teams have less of a brutal schedule then Seattle. I can see Seattle going 2-4 in the division. 8-8

The wheels are gonna fall off next year. I don't see how they survive that schedule against the vikings, packers, lions, chargers, chiefs, raiders, panthers, and cowboys. Not to mention their own division with two emerging teams and they can't even sweep the other one. No one wants to even think about it but Seattle will be below .500.

Eh.. Wilson will keep them competitive and they added a ton of blocking on the O-Line (Dickson, Fluker, and best blocking prospect TE in the last several years). The D-Line is surprisingly deep and Jordan can add some pass rush from the edge along with Jones who is returning from injury. Clark will likely depart after this year because he'll command high money.

I'd say the wheels would fall off in 2-3 years or so when Wilson ages and can't run around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

Not sure I get the Seattle pessimism. I think they'll be okay for the next couple years. Sherman is coming off a major injury, Bennett is going on 34 and has the most snaps of any DL in the past 5 years I believe... Avril was already injured last season. I'm not sure why getting 'rid' of these 3 players is all of the sudden a shock. IMO it's smart football management.

I've generally disagreed with Seattle's football moves in the past (Graham, Harvin, trading picks, etc.), I am 100% onboard with what they've done this offseason.

True that, we don't all have the NE advantage.
yep that NFCW was a real smoker last year:rolleyes2:. But keep trying to deflect. This was/is about how bad Seattle will be, not Cleveland level but certainly on par with Buffalo and Miami.

The rest of the NFCW says thank you :suds:
