I never said they would be awful. I said they needed to rebuild. Their division is getting much tougher, they are losing key players, and they don’t have draft stock to bring in superstar players without catching a break or two. I never said that Seattle was in a unique position, much less a super unique position. The packers ARE in the same position, minus being in a tough division. Even though I think the Bears are going to be good soon, the Packers haven’t had to compete against any good teams in the division except the Vikings for a year or two. And the Packers haven’t been serious contenders since they won a title. People see Rodgers and they think contender, but the Packers haven’t been to a super bowl since, and they have suffered a bunch of early playoff exits.
The Seahawks are going to go through what the packers went through, only none of the teams in the nfc west are pathetic like the bears or lions were the last 7 or 8 years.
On a side note, I went to the Seahawks board to just read the posts, and you guys are a fan base who will find something positive with every move made. The Seahawks could trade Russell Wilson for a bag of peanuts and you guys would be saying things like “Well, we get a lot more energy on defense if we feed those peanuts to the DLine. Great trade!” There’s really no debate if you fail to acknowledge your teams weaknesses. I have been pretty spot on with the Seahawks since their title. But all good things must come to an end, and this elite Seahawks defense is coming to an end.
Remember when Aaron Rodgers was so scared of throwing to Sherman’s side that he avoided his side of the field the entire game? That was an elite defense. That level of “eliteness” is long gone. Without that, the Seahawks are just your run of the mill passing team with a good qb.
We will just have to wait and see what Seahawks do this year. What divisions do they play? Want to place an avi bet?
I guess you didn't see the Blair Walsh/Eddy Lacy threads? Or the o-line threads? Or the Bevell/Cable threads?
