The Lakers have about 60 million of cap space available for next season, assuming they renounce all of their holds. Signing Lebron and Paul George to max contracts would cost about 65 million next year.

So without doing any move the Lakers would have a roster of

Deng
Kuzma
Ball
Ennis
Ingram
Hart
Zubac
Bryant
James
George

So they will be over the cap already and have a starting roster of Ball, James, Ingram, George, Zubac. And then the FOLLOWING year you think they are going to bring in ANOTHER max cap guy(~32 million a year)? And your reasoning is? Because they are the Lakers?

That roster above isn't winning any titles unless Ingram and Ball make MASSIVE leaps forward.
Its why I doubt LeBron goes to LA.

Even if they sign George- can you see that above roster getting out of the 2nd round against Houston or GSW? I rather doubt it. And remember- Deng wouldnt even be on the roster. I mean- it would be James, George, a few solid young ugys and a bunch of poop.

they hsould wait and sign Klay and Cousins- stay young and do it there own way. Stay away from LeBron who will be 34 in December and stay away from George- who has been very unimpressive as a winner if you ask me.

Plus- Lonzo Ball sucks at shooting and needs the ball in his hands. Those are like the 2 things you DONT want with LeBron James. He would thrive with a shooter like Klay and a Big man like Cousins---- but LeBron needs shooters that spread the floor and loves having the ball in his hands (as he should -hes unreal at passing/vision etc.) To me lonzo ball is a terrible fit with LeBron--- But Lonzo Ball is a much much better fit with Klay and Cousins.

There is a logic to that.

I'm not going to say that I agree with this but I think that the argument makes as much sense as bringing in Lebron and PG.

Do you actually talk basketball or do you just wave Gold and Purple pom poms around?

Here's a fun one:

"Assume" PG and Lebron take cheaper deals if Leonard has intentions to sign
"Assume" the Lakers are willing to go over the cap

Is it impossible?

I think, for me, the big question mark would be how they would handle getting banged around.

1. "Assuming"

2. Under 5000 words, wiggy

3. :L

4. Luxuary tax. It's how the cavs are going it

You do realize that you can't go over the cap to sign a max player, right?

Of course not. Because you actually think you are right here and everyone else is wrong.

I got news for you. Love him or hate him, nobody here understands the cap rules better than Wiggy. I get the basics well enough not to make novice errors like what you just did, but you really should read that post of his. You might actually learn something.

Given all the time you spend here, a little actual knowledge of how the NBA works could help you avoid looking like a complete fool at times.

But hey, do what you will.

Sure. If PG and Lebron and Kawhi are all willing to take $15 million/year deals then it could definitely happen. If we are going to speculate that not 1, not 2, but 3 superstars were all going to take dramatically lower contracts just so they could play together, anything is possible.

A. LeBron said hes not taking less than a max
B. You cant go over the cap to sign FA's from other teams

Its just hard to talk to someone that just has no fucking clue what the rules are.

Ill try and help ya again

There are such things as "Bird Rights"---- this means- if you are over the cap- you can resign your OWN free agent. But you cant go over the cap to sign a free agent from a different team.

That's all the Cavs are now: James, Love, a few solid youngish guys, and poop

First off, nobody is losing anything.

Second, you didn't make 1 light hearted post. You made a ridiculous post about your team and continued to double down for at least a dozen more.

Oh please. You made one "light-hearted" comment and then went immediately to passive-aggressive arguments about it.

I hardly would say George Hill, Rodney Hood, Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr. are "poop"--- I was meaning poop more in the term of guys like Hart, Zubac, Thomas (whoever that is), or maybe that dude that came up from the G league.

Not only that- but i am not sure if you are aware of this- but the Cavs dont play in the West!!!!

the scenario of Lonzo growing the 3rd arm out of his ass and leading the league in assists is more likely if you ask me.

How many ways does LeBron have to say " No Paycut"?

Those guys are the solid Cavs players not the poop. So basically you admit the proposed Lakers team is better than the Cavs, and you fall back to "but they're in the West!"

Not your best effort, kiddo. Take the L, move on.
