Adults are those who know "because I said so" is not a real reason.

Veterans groups slam NFL players who kneel during anthem

Good enough for me...

Players were not protesting the military, they were protesting police treatment of African Americans. They have been pretty clear about that, unless you are prepared to offer examples of members of the military shooting unarmed young black me you should get that.

The military guys got upset at the protests, understandably so. But that does not mean the players were protesting the military.

Innocent until proven guilty is one thing, but this guy has a track record of being a compete scumbag.

If there is video of him that disproves these charges, great, get it out there and I'll eat crow. Until that happens, this is just another incident in the laundry list of ones that make him a complete shit head.

Absolutely. Michael Bennet is one of the the biggest POS in American sports. So so many examples to chose from. Abandoning a puppy at a kennel, this bogus story that caused the police countless man hours and turned out to be a lie, pushing an old lady out of the way because he felt the rules don't apply to him. What an ass clown.

I’m disappointed none of you picked me as the first guy to defend him.

It certainly sounds like a dick move on his part, but doesn’t sound criminal and certainly doesn’t sound like it warrants a penalty of up to 10 years in prison. I’m not sure it will even lead to his suspension by Goodell but anything is possible.

All that aside, we’ve basically got no facts other than Bennett pushed his way onto the field and one of the people trying to stop him was a 66 year old paraplegic. Did he bowl her over? Did he cause any serious harm to her? We need some more details.

It said he pushed her. Push someone older than 65 in Texas and it can be a hefty charge. Throw in the paraplegic part and it is a slam dunk.

I wonder why these good guys on the Cowboys would even want to play in a state that’s all racist rednecks. Why would a grown man dress up like a Cowboy in boots and a hat bigger then the stadium?
(See how stupid I sound? That’s how you saying the vast majority of Eagle fans are shit heads)

I see how stupid you sound but not so much PDay. Eagles fans are shit heads.

All that matters when you have a misguided, poorly coordinated "protest" is how it is perceived. Kneeling was perceived as a slight towards the military, and rightly so with all the work (and money taken) by the NFL to tie the NFL to the anthem, the flag, and the military. Then the fact that when the kneelers were told how it looked they kept doing it, that said everything most need to know.

Yep. Don't forget that Kaep chose to kneel during the national anthem at the Veterans Day celebration at the game. Many military veterans were present. Several lost friends in battle for the flag. Military personnel held a flag almost as big as the field.
Kaep should have chosen not to kneel that day.

I dislike both the Bennet idiots, but I don't see any way this sticks. It's almost as if the police said "ok it's been a year and no video emerged. our word vs his. Let's get him".

Which pisses me off because this will give him reason to get away with just about anything when this all blows over. The next time he actually gets sideways with the law this will be brought up to discredit the police in that case. HOU once again fucks it up for everyone.

And holy shit can anyone else say "overcharging"? Even if there is video of him hauling back and smashing this lady in the face causing her to fall and sprain her shoulder...no chance that holds up to felony charges. This entire thing is bullshit, and it's going to make Michael untouchable. idiots.

Bennett's lawyer sounds pretty confident that this is bullshit. And he seems to suggest that the Houston chief of police was more than a little out of line with calling Bennett "morally bankrupt".

If this turns out to be a fabricated charge, the Houston PD should be forced to resign for egregious abuse of power.
It may be completely bogus, but most lawyers do come off overly confident.
