ESPN's Josina Anderson reports the Redskins are going to let CB Bashaud Breeland hit the open market.

This was expected as the Redskins have given no indication they wanted to sign Breeland long-term. The 26-year-old was inconsistent in 2017 and played better when matching up against slot receivers. He's currently Pro Football Focus' No. 64 cover corner out of 121 qualifiers and will likely command close to $10 million a year on the open market.

Massive overpay of BB. Predicted last year that he would not be back no matter what kind of season he had.

Helen keller could have called the redskins letting home grown talent walk over money.

the talent doesn't warrant the contract.

Weren't you ridin BB's jock not too long ago? If so its cool. He has a lot of desirable qualities for a NFL CB. While only 5'11" 197 pounds. He plays bigger and he's physical. And perhaps what's most intriguing and fruystrating about BB is he's had his best games against big time players.Washington Redskins: The rising star of Bashaud Breeland

I think that Pitt game to open up 2016 fucked with his head and while he did get lit up that game. He was a finger nail away from making a play on multiple plays. Don't act like he's garbage. The talent, skill-set and ability are there. He has to put all together on a consistent basis.

No shit. In the matter of 2 off seasons. Allen/Snyder just fuckin mangled what was just a short time ago. Strengths of the team in WR and CB via apathy and laziness it almost appears.

The Name Value does not equal the contract you mean? I bet if they pay Sherman $15M a year with $24M Guaranteed, you wouldnt bitch about it.

These guys do not get...no player is actually worth what they receive in FA because they equate value to their actual rank at a position...I.E. the best player gets the most money per season.

They are too stupid too realize the best players in the league never reach FA.

They also dont realize that the quickest way to over pay is to chase other teams Free Agents. I mean Breeland would not be nearly as unaffordable had the Redskins not already given Norman a $75M contract.

In fairness, Norman was a top five corner.

Breeland should have been extended before the season ended if we were looking.

NOrman was a top five corner who we still over paid at the expense of not getting what we really needed.

Norman was the name they needed to placate the owner in his mindset of he who dies with the most toys wins.

Cb's always get overpaid in FA. I know you don't like Norman but I would rather have him than Breeland. Norman was banged up last year. He should bounce back this year. The Moreau pick was for the departure of BB. Agree?

Agree FM was picked in case Breeland left. But Norman is over paid and not as good as you think. And they just traded the guy that SHOULD have replaced Breeland. So Morue should have been the guy to step into the slot when Fuller moved to the outside.

A move made even more bone headed now that there are reports that SOMEONE in the front office has interest in Lamar (RG4) Jackson.
