Agreed the team lost, not just the QB or the Defense, or the offense.
Problem is and will remain the same as it has been the past three years when it comes to this fan base.
There are the rules for our QB, then the rules for every one else. Depending one WHO the QB is at the time portions of this fan base set unrealistic expectations. I will be curious to see how forgiving some of the more adamant fans are with the current QB. Because the goal posts are already shifting closer.
One of the issues that I've always had in this era is the over emphasis on the QB position. To me he is but one of 53, no more or less important than any other. In fact if I had to take a position on them, I would say that none of them are actually any good (yep including Brady) considering the one sided rule changes that lopsidedly favor their side of the ball. In fortunately, we have to consider the time in which they play, along with those rule changes in order to rate them. We'll have to wait, but even if Smith does as well or better than Kirk, I can guarantee that I'll call him pretty good as well. No more and no less.
BTW: if he's bad, it's easy to call a skunk a skunk.
