Cheer up charlie. SB's been a week. Your ass still hurting?

Of course.

22 years of the Cowboys not being there has left you void of any feelings. Sometimes I envy you Cowboys fans. Never getting your hopes up to be in the big game.

it's okay chuck....some of us have been around since the first one played.
memories of playing in 8 of the first 30 hasn't faded.

22 years of nothing and yet only one team has won more.

It's all good

I get my hopes up every single year. That's what being a fan is. I just don't get butt hurt and bring things up like a teams past success/failure when upset about someone disagreeing with me on a completely unrelated argument. At least you skipped the "Cowgirls" this time...Baby steps...And for the record I'm quite happy with my teams past success.

All that matters is last year and overall history and everything other than the past year is all jumbled together as history.:noidea:

Uhh....I think you just did. I’ve been talking about a dumb rule and you bring up the SuperBowl and me being butt hurt. But if you say you don’t bring up other stuff..... ok Champ.

-The catch rule....needs to be simplified, obviously.
-Offense keeps the ball if it's fumbled through the endzone. Put the ball at the 20 as they do, but the offense retains possession.
-Each team gets 2 challenges per half.
-Eliminate the Pro Bowl.
-Division realignment with 6 divisions (6-6-5-5-5-5).
-Eliminate conferences.

The conference elimination and realignment are far fetched, but I would love to see it. I think it would be pretty cool to have more natural geographic rivalries playing twice a year. 6 division winners and the 6 best records would qualify for playoffs and seeded 1-12 by W-L record. Top-4 receive a 1st round bye. 5-12, 6-11, 7-10, and 8-9 would be the 1st round matchups.

West (6)--ARZ, LAC, LAR, OAK, SEA, SF
Midwest (5)--DAL, DEN, HOU, KC, TEN
Southeast (6)--ATL, CAR, JAX, MIA, NO, TB
North (5)--CHI, DET, GB, IND, MIN
Northeast (5)--BAL, CIN, CLE, NYJ, PIT
East (5)--BUF, NE, NYG, PHI, WAS
-Teams with at least one playoff appearance in the last 3 seasons in BOLD (24 of 32). That's for the people who would claim that this division and that division is filled with bitches and stuff like that.

I didn't put NYG-NYJ in the same division so the rest of the league wouldn't bitch about one of them having 9 home games each season.

With teams playing 8 or 10 division games it allows some wiggle room to schedule some old rivalries with the 6 or 8 remaining. DAL-NYG, for example, could play once a year. I wouldn't be upset if they were no longer a division foe. I'm okay with divisions not being an equal number across the board. It was done that way several years before 2002 so it's manageable.

1.Goodell replaced
2.Technology used to correct refs bad calls and missed calls
3.Players and coaches required to stand for the Anthem and not be allowed to use NFL as means of personal protests..
4. Oh yeah, and Ravens win Super Bowl 5 yrs in a row....:dhd:

3 out of 4 ain't bad....lol!

For me...figure out the catch, too many big games are starting to be decided by an unstable set of rules. Start weeding out (of the league) the refs that are constantly blowing calls.

  • NFL player contracts should be fully guaranteed and fully count against the salary cap (including signing bonuses and buy-outs)
  • Contracts for a single player cannot exceed 10% of a team's salary cap for UFAs or 12% for retained players (at the time of signing) and cannot exceed 5 years in term.
  • A 16-team NFL minor league should be established with a two-team (1 NFC; 1 AFC - regional) shared affiliate for each team. 60-man rosters (30 prospects per team). High school graduate requirement; no NCAA necessary. Eliminate practice squads.
  • Salary cap max includes the 30 players in the team's minor league affiliate.

Tracking chips in the footballs.
The NFL has been toying with this forever. It will save video review time and enhance video review.

The field is fitted with sensors so it can track the chips in the footballs. The chip can tell you when the ball crosses goal lines or first down markers etc. Lots of details to work out for sure but I think it would be invaluable.

  • NFL player contracts should be fully guaranteed and fully count against the salary cap (including signing bonuses and buy-outs) - Fully guaranteed would not include if they are cut would it?
  • Contracts for a single player cannot exceed 10% of a team's salary cap for UFAs or 12% for retained players (at the time of signing) and cannot exceed 5 years in term. - I like this one except the 5 year term. Why not longer if they wanted?

High school graduate requirement; no NCAA necessary. Eliminate practice squads. - This would be cool. If this replaced practice squads, wouldn't it have to be played when the NFL season is? I'm not sure it would survive competing against the NFL and College Football.
