Absolutely true, but last year they would have been out if they hadn't played Oklahoma. And who knows this year if Oklahoma hadn't played tOSU would it have been Clemson, Georgia, tOSU, and Alabama and left Oklahoma out?

I still think if you are good enough to win the National Title you want those Big OOC games, the win can put you in even with a dumb loss to an Iowa or an Iowa State.
True unless it is such an ugly clusterfuck people can't get it out of their mind.

I wouldn't care.

I think it's stupid to try and chest-thump about not playing any lower-division teams. There really isn't any benefit in terms of playoff positioning, one way or the other. What matters is the name on your jerseys.

If you're Bama and you play Mercer, but don't win your conference, you get to go to the Playoffs.

If you're Baylor and you play Northwestern State and WIN your conference, you don't get to go to the Playoffs.

Pac has tricky stipulations like all 4 cali schools play every year no rotation. Northwest 4 play either UCLA or USC each year no matter what. always have Cal and Stanford but one is always away so that NW schools get at least 1 game in Cali for recruiting. I believe the other 4 south teams also have a stipulation into california.
as for NW schols playing SW/mountains i dont under stand the rotation as it is
That’s just dumb shit right there.

Just change your name to Bama (TX) and you should be good to go. See Miami (OH).

Not pimping them at all. Do you know that you can compare two things without "pimping" one? The B1G West wasn't great at all, but they were well ahead of the ACC Coastal. By a landslide.

No not really. Big pillow fight those divisions

Notre dame is ending most big ten games. They want to be like Bama and play Mercer

lol, unlike Nebraska, ND has never scheduled an FCS opponent.

Iowa has arguably the most impressive win in all of college football this season and then beat Boston College.

Yes they should...other leagues are doing it not being penalized and are actually benefiting from it

It's horrible for college football so I would hate it and bash the Big 10 for doing so, but for sake of keeping up with their competition they should

Probably should...their stock isn't going to get any higher...

Despite getting blown out in the last two playoffs and not beating anyone in their bowl games that hadn't already got their shit pushed in a couple of times by somebody else, the perception seems to be that the B1G is near the top of the P5.

If they play a bunch of FCS teams, they can't get exposed. They should probably try to schedule more PAC teams while they're at it, that way they get the benefit of playing a P5 team, without actually having to play a P5 team.

Wasn't a disrespect to ND. They can't continue to play their schedule and have the SEC play theirs

I wish Wisconsin would take a page outta Notre Dame's book. Schedule tough. Kick the bully's teeth. I'd take a schedule with USC, Auburn and say, NC State anytime.

I've got news for you, every conference sucks

If it wasn't for how completely awful the Pac was we would all be talking about how the ACC got the shit beat out of them in every meaningful bowl game this year

Big 12 doesn't play defense

SEC only had 3 teams in the entire conference that didn't suck, and one of them lost 4 games

Big 10 had a 2 loss champion

The SEC has 6 teams that won 9 games this year, and went 9-3 against other P5's...two of those losses being to Clemson. I think we have different definitions of what suck means.

LSU, the best of the remaining teams lost to Troy... P5 record was a convenient stat to pick at since it doesn't include performances like that, Mississippi State did beat LSU but struggled to beat the mighty UMass by 11 points

Troy is a 11 win conference champion...maybe they should be in the playoffs too.

If you want to talk about those 6 teams and their 12-1 record against non-P5 teams be my guest. I somehow think that doesn't make them look worse, but maybe you can spin it.

I think there is quite enough spinning being done here.

I agree, whole threads full of people trying to pimp out the B1G. Y'all have one decent bowl season where the only SEC team you beat is fucking Kentucky and you had to hobble them to do that and all of a sudden you are kings of the world, LOL. More power to you, play all the FCS teams you want, it won't make you any better or us any worse.

No, we need to remove Rutgers, Indiana, Illinois and Purdue -- go to 10 teams, play all 9 and get rid of the divisions/championship game. Play a full round-robin season every year + 3 OOC games.

Purdue??? They had 1 less win than Michigan this year and won their bowl game and it was their new coach in his first season. I'd drop Maryland before Purdue.

Don't need to drop anybody. Play better teams OOC.
