we should dump the ZBS and go to a power blocking scheme. ZBS is just BS.
I'm for it. Feels like the Seahawks have been trying to pound square pegs into round holes. They keep obtaining these big maulers when zone blocking requires small quick Ol.we should dump the ZBS and go to a power blocking scheme. ZBS is just BS.
I've wanted that for several years now. I've lost any hope that change is coming. I just accept now that a shitty underpaid line is a fact of life for a Pete Carroll team.
I'm close to ready to move on from Ifedi as well. Led the league in penalties and just doesn't seem to have made the jump you expect of a first round pick with 2 years as a starter. With Duane Brown under contract through 2018, maybe Fant can compete at RT?
I hope Bennett is gone. He was more focused on his politics than his play this year, and I think it was a detriment to the team. And as a paying customer, I just have a hard time rooting for him when he disrespects our country during the playing of the anthem....and I think he lied about the police encounter in Vegas. I would just rather not have to see him on our sideline anymore. You could also put him in the category of "better to get rid of a guy a year too early than a year too late." His cap number for '18 is actually $3.5M less than it was this year, but he'll also be 33. We could still save by cutting him.
As far as the RB thing goes, I don't see much reason to bring back anyone we had on the team at the end of the season save JD McKissic. Chris Carson averaged 4 ypc before injury, which is a minor miracle behind this line. I agree we absolutely have to find a way to be somewhere around league average running the ball, but I'm not sure the guy who can do that isn't already here. I want to see what CC can do for a full year, but a mid round pick insurance policy may be smart. I would like to see Prosise get another shot at it as well. He is still dirt cheap, so there is pretty much no risk in giving him one more look.
I've been at that point already for a few years now. Lynch covered up a lot of flaws in this scheme and that staff. How can they not let Cable go after we had our worst rushing performance of the season w/out the QB's stats part of the total yards... Helk, in 1992, even Chris Warren ran for more yardage than our RB's did this year and that was on arguably one of the worst offenses in NFL history...
I can't explain how disappointed i'd be if Cable isn't released... He would at least be used as the scapegoat in this situation... I think you almost have to let him go for the sake of saving grace from the fans...
Agree... An entirely "Gutting" of the backfield is necessary... I don't see Carson as a starter in this league... He's a perfect fit in a support type of role but I think we still need to find our featured back because I don't think he's on the roster yet... "IF" Prosise can stay on the field, he and Carson would be a good One, Two punch but it's tough to believe he will at this point...
So what don't you like about Carson? He showed lots of promise. And as mentioned, 4 ypc behind this line is impressive. I think if he doesn't go down for the season in week 4, this offense would have been quite a bit more effective. I don't know that he has home run type speed, but Lynch didn't either. He has power and seems to have pretty good instincts.
What are you talking about? didnt you hear the announcers from the game? Cable is doing a masterful job.
If true, then it's even more sad that we lost to a Drew Stanton led offense...
