Bevell works for Pete Carroll. This will come as a shock to a few of you, but it's true.

It's Pete's team, not Darrell's. Pete has said clearly in public many times this team follows HIS philosophy. It is HIS scheme. If you don't like the direction of the team it's on PETE FUCKING CARROLL. This isn't that hard people. It really isn't. Bevell had a lot more passing productivity while with the Vikings. That's a fact. He's not running his own offense here. Replace him and it will be someone else doing the exact same thing. When will some of you get that?

No one thinks the offense is good or acceptable. No one. Not one anywhere. Just most of us aren't entirely dumbly obsessed with the OC as the entire reason it's broken. The buck stops at the top. The level of their penalties is entirely unacceptable. JS hasn't found anything remotely acceptable for replacing Lynch. Their run game is fucking horrible. Cable hasn't put together a competent O line like ever.

There is blame to be shared all over the place. And THAT'S what people are saying.

They aren't Cleveland Browns kind of broken. They aren't 9'ers kind of dumpster fire. They dropped off and missed the playoffs and yet just keep our kicker from last year and they are likely in as the WC. And that's despite losing Kam, Sherman, Wagner hurt so much of the year, etc.

There are a lot of changes that need to be made. I'd argue Graham needs to go. And how about a first round pick that actually joins the team next year. That'd be great wouldn't it?

If nothing changes and we go into next year with this same crap we WILL be a dumpster fire. and jimmy g isnt going to be our white knight.

    Thats my biggest fear.

Yes next year could be tough. No place for band wagon fans, that's for sure. However I like the outlook going forward the year after. If you jump off, don't even consider trying to climb back on.

Who doesn't think there needs to be substantial changes this off season? Of course if they stay the same they will have the same or worse results.

If Blair Walsh has a job in the NFL whoever employs him should be fired.

Ifedi cannot possibly be at RT next year. Doubt he can move to RG either, but for Gods sake stop leaving him on the edge. He can't play there. At all.

Either Bennett needs to be a 3rd down rusher and not a major player or it's time to move on. His penalties have flat out killed this team and he can still flush a QB, but doesn't catch many anymore. He's tired.

They need a feature back badly. Like really really badly.

Some of that is just my opinion, but no one has any opinion that doesn't involve at least a few glaring changes before next season.

How can you have faith in a FO fixing the OL issues when the same FO constantly skips over competent lineman in the draft for lesser talent? This is the same FO and coaching staff that watched quality lineman go in the draft only to grab a center in Pocic (a position we didnt need and a player who's been awful when playing other positions), over paying an injury plagued lineman in Luke Joeckel, allowing Ifedi to continue playing right tackle when he's probably the worst in the league and does lead the NFL in penalties, thinking it was a great idea to insert a basketball player at left tackle to protect your franchise QB, sign an all pro tackle during the season and coach him down to look mediocre at best, etc,,,. I like your enthusiasm Harold, but I have zero faith that the FO and coaching staff can or will fix the problems.

So a feature back is going to solve the running game problems? Strange how Alex Collins can run for close to a 1000 yards in Baltimore but cant even make our roster. Its not the players, its the scheme. Thats on the coaches.

The Seahawks have thought outside the box searching for the answer to put together a OL and it certainly hasn’t worked. They have gone back to drafting actual OL though. As for Pocic, I believe the Seahawks had doubts they could resign Britt.
With all their lack of success finding good OL it’s easy to think they won’t in the future. However I remember thinking something similar about finding a franchise QB. Trading a third round pick for Charlie Whitehurst WTH, then signing Tarvaris Jackson to be the starting QB. That was discouraging, but eventually they found a gem of QB. So I’m going to keep the faith.

I think agree with most of that. The good thing about Walsh missing that kick at the end was that I think it will drive some of the needed changes and not pull is into a false sense of security that may have happened by finishing with double digit wins once again but just missing out on the playoffs due to the tie breaker with ATL.

Clearly Walsh won't come back -- was on a 1 year deal anyway and like you suggest, it's iffy as to whether he can even find a job in the league next year after his performance this season. It's mind boggling to think that the Cards made out better with 40-something Phil Dawson than we did with BW.

I'm close to ready to move on from Ifedi as well. Led the league in penalties and just doesn't seem to have made the jump you expect of a first round pick with 2 years as a starter. With Duane Brown under contract through 2018, maybe Fant can compete at RT?

Speaking of the line, I think Cable just has to go. This organization has put more draft stock into their OL than any other team in the NFL over the past handful of years, and it's just not working. Joeckel has been terrible since returning from surgery. The picks on both Ifedi and Odhiambo aren't looking too good. Iffy on Pocic but he's just a rookie. It's time to get a fresh perspective to coach this unit. You just cannot go a full season with a total of 1 rushing TD not scored from your QB, or your QB being your team's leading rusher, or the RB with the most yards being the guy who didn't even play after week 4.....but all 3 of those??? I will seriously question PC's ability to see himself if Cable is still employed by the Hawks in 2018.

I hope Bennett is gone. He was more focused on his politics than his play this year, and I think it was a detriment to the team. And as a paying customer, I just have a hard time rooting for him when he disrespects our country during the playing of the anthem....and I think he lied about the police encounter in Vegas. I would just rather not have to see him on our sideline anymore. You could also put him in the category of "better to get rid of a guy a year too early than a year too late." His cap number for '18 is actually $3.5M less than it was this year, but he'll also be 33. We could still save by cutting him.

As far as the RB thing goes, I don't see much reason to bring back anyone we had on the team at the end of the season save JD McKissic. Chris Carson averaged 4 ypc before injury, which is a minor miracle behind this line. I agree we absolutely have to find a way to be somewhere around league average running the ball, but I'm not sure the guy who can do that isn't already here. I want to see what CC can do for a full year, but a mid round pick insurance policy may be smart. I would like to see Prosise get another shot at it as well. He is still dirt cheap, so there is pretty much no risk in giving him one more look.

We have quite a few decisions to make with the players who were in the last year of their deal and/or only signed a 1 year contract. As good as JG was in the rz this year, i'm not sure he's worth the $$ that he can likely command on the open market. I would rather re-sign Luke W and re-invest the difference elsewhere. Would like to see Maxwell and McDougald back. I think both played well, and we need some vets back there with unknown futures of Kam and Sherm. Our secondary didn't fall apart this season after those guys got hurt like it did when we lost ET last year. I expect P-Rich to chase the money, but I would also be ok with him coming back. I don't think he's developed to where I thought he would be after 4 years, but he's made several big plays this season.

Will be an interesting off-season for sure.

Lynch had no problems creating his own yards for several years with this shitty line and same scheme. There's no doubt there are plenty of schemes and teams with lines that can have more success with lessor backs. There is little chance we will be changing head coach and I have zero faith they can do anything to improve the line given they have never really done so.

Finding a lynch replacement is therefor really the only reasonable fix for the running game left as something doable.

so if the D is inevitably getting worse and the only hope to improve our O is a once in a generation RB, why is carroll still our HC? he doesnt seem to have what it takes to have a working NFL offense.

either carroll fires the entire O staff and hands it off to someone else entirely, or carroll is a dead man walking.

Carson looked pretty good before he went down, im hoping he will be the answer, however they likely bring in some comp, and maybe draft one later in the draft. because I dont believe the Seahawks are as dumb as the Mariners and wont put all their eggs in an unproven basket.

Fix the o-line and you will see the run game work again. That starts by ridding of Cable.

I think next year could be very positive if not devastated by injuries, better coached o-line which could lead to a better running game and a better kicker.

They have had backs that looked good for a minute since Lynch left and no doubt we need more Carson. They do need more depth there. Whether that's a backup and Carson becomes the answer or he's a backup. Either way they sucked at the position this year more games than not.

Fix the O-line. That sounds really really great doesn't it? It's something everyone can rally behind. Fix the freaking offensive line. Just do that.

They won't. They can't. They never have in their entire tenure. They have wasted several high level draft picks over busts, traded away the best player on that line, and continually put hot garbage out and try to call it a line. They spend less than most teams and get what they pay for.

We would all love for that to change. I just have zero faith anymore that it's even possible, more or less likely. It's just not going to change.

Fix the o-line and Davis and Mckissic would do just fine.

It starts with firing Cable and get fresh eyes with a fresh scheme to run. That's my hope.

I've wanted that for several years now. I've lost any hope that change is coming. I just accept now that a shitty underpaid line is a fact of life for a Pete Carroll team.
