The coaches like bowl games because it gives them extended practice. IMO they need to scale back the number of bowls and make a rule that if you finished. 500 or better you can have that extended practice.

Post of the year!That's exactly correct. It's another fallacy along with the biggest whopper of them
all that there is more parity in college football than ever before.
Folks the rich are getting richer faster than ever before. We now have a system where
exactly 50% of all college teams are relegated to 2nd class citizenship with no hope
of playing for a NC, which would improve their "prestige" and with it...recruiting.
This is 15th century, European Class System at work.
Then that is compounded by the bottom feeders of each of the 5 leagues who have 2 chance
to improve prestige and recruiting...Slim and None.
God forbid we allow bottom feeders the opportunity to improve their players with a few
extra practices.
Gotta keep that boot heel pressed to their necks
